Does Bronzing from Sun Exposure After Fraxel Go Away?

Doctor Answers 2

Bronzing from Fraxel

Fraxel laser is a fabulous laser to treat sun damage and hyperpigmentation.  Bronzing from sun exposure after Fraxel sometimes fades away on its own.  Often patients may need a hydroquinone to minimize this bronzing and another laser treatment.  I always remind patients that strict sun avoidance is critical after the Fraxel procedure.  For the best cosmetic results please consult a board certified dermatologist with experience with lasers and Fraxel.

Post Fraxel Response

Bronzing after Fraxel can occur and usually disappears on its on. This is seen more commonly in people with darker skin and those with melasma. Avoiding sun exposure will be helpful.
