The combination surgery will take from 2 to 3 hours to perform.   Find an American Plastic Surgery Board certified plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of breast reductions and lifts each year with favorable results.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.

Breast reduction surgery time

It depends on the size of your breasts. Usually between 2 to 3 hours, and I mostly have patients stay 1 night in hospital. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney, Australia.

Breast reduction

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Congratulations on your decision to pursue a breast reduction. Depending on the extent of the surgery, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. Surgery is typically performed on an out-patient basis, meaning you go home the same day. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck! Best,

Breast Reduction

Excellent question.   Usually, the larger the breasts, the longer the operation.   Two and a half to three hours is a realistic surgical time for an average breast reduction.     Best of luck.

Procedure length

Breast reduction takes about 3-3 1/2 hours depending on the breast size, various other measurements and the wound closure technique.  I always close the skin with plastics method and this adds time in the OR.
