My breast augmentation was 2 weeks ago and my breasts seem to be in my armpits. Will they settle closer over time? I was a 30A. I got 250 saline implants under the muscle. They're extremely far apart and no possibility to for cleavage. I squeeze my breasts together to fit into a bra. I want my implants out, but am told they're likely to look better over time. My gut tells me to get rid of them. What is your opinion?
Answer: Breasts Too Far Apart After Implants - Will They Get Closer with Time? Excessive #space #between the breasts is a very common reason many seek breast implant revision surgery. During the initial breast augmentation, a #pocket is created carefully to maintain certain folds on the sides and bottom of the breast. Occasionally, the space for the breast implant becomes too large on the #side of the chest or the tissue #stretches and the implants fall too much to the side. This is most easily seen when the patient is lying on her back. Other times, the space is a result of too narrow or too small of an implant for the patient's build. It's difficult to suggest solutions here without knowledge of the #surgical #techniques applied. Nor without before and after #photographs. Also, it's best to wait 6 to 12 months depending on the reason for #revision. Nevertheless, the best #option for #revising should be discussed during a one-on-one consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Deciding on additional #elective cosmetic #surgery is a personal #choice. Your procedures should always be performed by a #PlasticSurgeon who is board-certified and has a great deal of experience specializing in cosmetic #surgery. You will then greatly improve your chances of getting the result you desire, and, without the need for a revision surgery. It is suggested that you look at before and after photos of the surgeons actual patients, and read patient reviews. Answer: 2 weeks post op. Breast implants too wide? Hard to say anything without a photo. You are too early post op to make any definitive statements. Most of the time the goal is to have a 2 to 4 cm space between the breasts. This can vary from patient to patient. A board certified plastic surgeon can make the distance smaller. If too small there is a risk of symmastia. Each patient's chest wall and soft tissue is different. There is an interaction between the chest wall, soft tissue and the implant itself. This can drive the implants apart at times. Cleavage comes from bras that push together the upper pole. Make sure you tell al of your concerns to your board certified plastic surgeon. It is okay to ask questions.

Answer: Revision Should Be Delayed The vast majority of patients who have poor cleavage have widely spaced nipple areola complexes. Many of these patients also have laterally sloping chest walls.Under these circumstances, it’s almost impossible to obtain cleavage with a breast augmentation procedure.Attempts to move the implants in an inward direction can result in secondary deformities. In some cases, this might result in the nipple areola complex setting on the lateral breast surface. In this situation, it’s virtually impossible to make a recommendation without pre- and postoperative pictures and a physical examination. If there is a correctable problem, revisional surgery should be delayed for three to six months. At this time, it would be easier to make aesthetic judgments, as well. It’s important to maintain good communication with your plastic surgeon.Your surgeon should be able to address your concerns and formulate an appropriate treatment plan, if this should prove necessary.

Answer: Breast Implants Too Far Apart It is difficult to make an assessment without images. If the implants are centred on the nipples then they are likely in the correct position. Ultimately the positioning of the implants is dictated by your nipple and breast position on the chest wall prior to surgery. If they are have migrated towards the armpits you should review with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!RegardsDr Guy Watts

Answer: Cleavage depends on your natural breast positioning Post-operative cleavage will depend on your pre-surgery cleavage. You have wide-set breasts, which means you'll probably continue to have wide-set breasts after surgery. However, while you may have a bit of improvement, it may not be as much as you want. Unfortunately, your surgeon can only do so much to give you cleavage before it looks abnormal, since the implants have to remain centred underneath your nipples.
