I had ventral hernia repair with corrected Diastasis Recti surgery 9 days ago. Is bulge along incision recurrence? (photos)

I had ventral hernia repair with corrected Diastasis Recti surgery 9 days ago. Immediately after waking up from surgery I saw a somewhat big soft bulge where incision was. It has not went down yet and I want to know if this is an incisional hernia or a part of the healing process. I did not use mesh with the repair. Besides bloating my pain is minimal, just discomfort when bending or doing something that contracts an muscles.

Hi - it is difficult to tell exactly what you've had done through such a small incision. I'm not sure how they could have repaired your rectus divarication through there. The bulge is either an unrepaired hernia or divarication, or a seroma or haematoma. You should be checked out by your surgeon. Regards
