My dentist says I may not be a candidate for Braces because of bone loss along my lower front teeth. Any suggestions? (photo)

The teeth are not loose and have never given me any problems -- although I can clearly see I have very little gum beneath them. I plan to see a periodontist soon and was curious if there is anything a periodontist can do to "strengthen"/increase the odds that these teeth could handle the rigor of getting moved around by braces? And if not, do I have no choice but to accept crooked teeth? Thank you!
