If my doctor did not tell me about the "ideal" implants as an option, is it even possible for him to do those?

My doctor offered the silicone gel, gummy bear, and saline. I recently found the ideal plants and am very interested in those. Can he just order them or do I need to find a different surgeon? Ugh.

Your surgeon may or may not be able to use the Ideal implant- there is some training involved and some practice differences in using this implant vs the others on the market.   Ask your surgeon about the Ideal implant and see what her or his thoughts are.  Some surgeons, like me, were early adopters of this new technology and are using them more routinely.
Best wishes,

Natural feel is not the only thing women care about. The FDA approved intact silicone gel implants as safe. However, if a gel implant ruptures the implant and any gel should be removed including the surrounding capsule (capsulectomy). IDEAL® IMPLANT offers women natural feel without the risk of silent rupture. Women value the advantages of IDEAL® IMPLANT over silicone gel: Rupture Advantages

  • No silent ruptures
  • Saline absorbed, free Silicone Gel remains
  • No MRI needed to detect ruptures
  • Look in the mirror to know implants are intact
  • Easy to remove and replaced if ruptured

Filler Advantages

  • Only saline inside for peace of mind
  • Safety of saline
  • No silicone gel in the body

Clinical Advantages

  • Youthful shape/contour
  • Lower capsule contracture rate
  • Higher rupture strength
  • Low rupture rate

Find a Surgeon Who is Experienced with Ideal Implants

All surgeons have their own opinion regarding what type of breast implant is appropriate for any particular patient.  It is important for your surgeon to be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with whatever implant they are planning to use.  It sounds like the surgeon you saw in consultation was not familiar with the Ideal Implant, thus, they are probably not the best choice for using this type of implant.  You can certainly discuss this issue with them and see what their thoughts are regarding the Ideal Implant.

My best advice would be to seek out a surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who has extensive experience with Ideal Implants.

I hope that I have answered your questions satisfactorily.  Good Luck!

Thank you for your question.  If your plastic surgeon did not offer Ideal Implants as an option, he most likely is not yet approved to use the implants.  At this time, there are a limited number of board certified plastic surgeons across the nation who are trained and approved to use Ideal structured implants.  It will be easy to find those in your area by checking the website of the company.  Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your question.  At this time, the Ideal Implant is available only to a select nationwide network of board certified plastic surgeons.  You can find a surgeon who offers this implant by looking at the company's website.  Hope that helps.  Good luck!
