Tooth #4 failed root canal from crack. Needs extortion. I will get implant but cannot get immediate load of the crown. Other than a flipper what kind of single tooth prosthetic can I get while that implant heals. If I smile you can clearly see that tooth. I need something! What's the best option without having plastic-y stuff on the roof of my mouth?
Answer: Bonded Temporary I frequently do a bonded temporary while the implant is healing. Most of my patients do not want to go even a single day with a missing tooth in their smile. Answer: A Maryland Bridge might be an option Your profile suggests that you are from Maryland and what could be a more perfect solution than a Maryland bridge (developed at the University of Maryland and requires little to no tooth reduction). It is bonded to your adjacent teeth and can be a good option while your implant heals. Talk to your doctor and see what he or she thinks about it.

Answer: Temporary / transitional tooth while awaiting dental implant HelloThere are three options for a temporary tooth while the extraction site and eventual implant heals. First options is a tooth bonded to adjacent teeth. The second is an Essix appliance, which is basically a clear shell (similar to a bleaching tray) with a tooth in it. This is probably the most comfortable and cost effective option. The third option is a flipper which most people find it difficult to use. Depending on the location of tooth, its surrounding bone structure, and implant size, an immediate implant may be possible (done at time of tooth extraction), otherwise it is best to stage the treatment.I hope this is helpful.Dr. Kazemi

Answer: IMPLANT TEMPORARY Good day to you. There are esthetically pleasing alternatives to a "flipper" option. Please inquire about have a "nesbit" partial made as a temporary tooth. It is a single tooth with virtually invisible clasp on the front and back. Unlike the "flipper" which covers the roof of your mouth, the nesbit will be tooth supported without impinging on the roof of your mouth. In my implant practice, we immediate load implants with temporary crowns routinely with the same success of staged, delayed replacement. This has multiple benefits for the patient wheres the temporary tooth does not come out as well as preserving the gums. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for a secondary surgery to uncover an implant.
