Recovery after a Vaginoplasty

Thank you for your question. Plan to rest for the first few days after surgery. Stool softeners are highly recommended. You may become aware of some injuring (without bleeding) and swelling, both of which can be helped (to reduce) with the use of ice packs or oral medicine. Most women return to work and their daily commonly-done actions after 2 or 3 days, although sexual activity and tampon use should not resume for at least 6 weeks. Specific exercises such as vaginal (expanding/enlarging) and scar massage may be put into place during this period. You should also avoid baths, swimming and hot tubs during your recovery period. Best of luck!

Vaginiplasty in Hyderabad india

After childbirths , especially normal vaginal delivery vaginal muscles get stretched , though the problem may not affect all women. When it does cause dissatisfaction in sexual intercourse , vaginoplasty can be done to tighten the vagina. A simple case  like this is performed under local anaesthesia and costs 1500 USD . Additional procedures can be added too like labia minors trimming, if they are long . Severe  cases that involve repair of cystocoele etc , cost 3000 USD and require more than local anaesthesia . Recovery time for total healing in simple cases is 1 month, when you can resume intercourse and exercises. Mild to moderate activities can be performed soon after surgery . The stitches used are completely absorbable.

Vaginoplasty: What Goes Into the Price, Cost, Fee?

{{ voteCount >= 0 ? '+' + (voteCount + 1) : (voteCount + 1) }}
Saavy consumers of cosmetic gynecology need to factor in the costs of everything that goes into the final tally.

First, ask if there is a consultation fee. If so, ask if the fee will be credited toward the surgery if you decide to go ahead.

Second, ask if your medical insurance will cover any related charges such as bloodwork testing, prescriptions, etc. In some cases, where medically indicated pelvic floor reconstruction is found to be necessary, the insurance might even cover the cost of surgery - don't get too excited, these situations are exceptions, but it never hurts to ask.

Third, ask if there is a facility fee. This is the cost of "renting" the operating room for your surgery. If the surgeon conducts the procedure in-house, the facility fee will be lower or absent. Don't forget to ask what the facility fee does and does not include (e.g. nursing, anesthesia, recovery). Ask if the cost is independent of the duration of the surgery or whether it's on the meter like a taxi (by the hour, by the 15 min block, etc).

Fourth, ask if there is a charge for anesthesia. These procedures are conducted via local, IV sedation, or general depending on the circumstances. Local is cheap, but not always an option. General is usually most expensive and not always required. Ask if the cost is independent of the duration of the surgery.

Fifth, ask if there will be a surgical assistant fee. This may be another surgeon, or a professional scrub tech.

The only thing left is the surgeon's fee.

In my practice, I use a global fee that covers everything except the anesthesiologist.

Costs for a Vaginoplasty and About the Recovery

The #costs for #CosmeticLabIaplasty and #CosmeticFemaleSurgery depend upon the specific surgery that is requested, type of anaesthesia, experience of the surgery, and geographic location. Estimated fees can be found here on Real Self, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery website.
It is imperative to find a surgeon who is #Board Certified. Board #Certified Plastic Surgeons may have experience and training in performing #vaginoplasty surgeries.
Training in reconstructive #genital surgery and transgender surgery along with experience in aesthetic procedures, provide Plastic Surgeons with special skills to perform these operations.Some gynecologists and uro-gynecologists have special interest and training in this aspect of women’s care. One key to a satisfying result is realistic expectations. Also, it is suggested that you look at before and after photos of the surgeons actual patients, and read patient reviews. Gathering all of this information will help you make a well-informed decision.

Most cosmetic surgeries are #outpatient. #Labiaplasty and #vaginoplasty
cases are typically finished within an hour. If a repair of the bladder, rectum or
bowel is needed then a 23 hour overnight stay may be needed. If a
hysterectomy is also needed, then it is typical to stay one to two days. Placement of a
sling to help with incontinence does not prolong the hospital stay. Many patients
feel the pain involved is similar to the discomfort after a baby has been born.
They are somewhat sore but not in agony. #Pain control is excellent in the large
majority of cases. Sedation and use of local anesthetics is the least
invasive of anesthetic options. Many choose this so that #recovery is almost
immediate and the down time is minimal.

Generally, patients are able to walk comfortably within a few days and can return to work within a week. Swelling can persist for several weeks. Patients return to most normal activities immediately after surgery with the exception of activities that will create direct pressure on the area, such as certain exercise equipment and sexual activity. It will be necessary to refrain from these forms of physical activity, including sex, for approximately 4-6 weeks. #Postoperative care will usually consist of sitz baths or soaking the area in warm soapy water starting approximately 2 days after a surgery. The sutures will dissolve over the course of several weeks. Swelling can persist for two or three months and ice can reduce swelling.

Cost and recovery of vaginoplasty

{{ voteCount >= 0 ? '+' + (voteCount + 1) : (voteCount + 1) }}
As with all procedures cost can vary by region of the country.  Most vaginoplasties cost between $6-9,000, but it depends on where you have the surgery (hospital, surgery center, outpatient surgical suite). The recovery can be straightforward as long as you do not have a bladder problem (cystocele) or rectal bulging (rectocele). No intercourse is allowed for about 6-8 weeks.  It would be best for you to make an appointment for an in person evaluation.
