Last Effects of Gynecomastia Surgery

The #recurrence of breast enlargement is uncommon following #gynecomastia surgery.
However, it can occur. If this happens, you may require further surgery in the future.
Each patient is unique and previous #results are not a guarantee for individual outcomes. As with all cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if expectations are realistic. With any surgical procedure, there are some risks which your doctor will discuss with you during your consultation.

Can gynecomastia re-occur?

Familial gynecomastia where most of the male breast tissue is removed generally has long lasting results without recurrence as long as your weight remains the same. However, other causes of gynecomastia if still present can cause the residual breast tissue to grow again. For example THC (frequent use of marijuana), certain medications, hormonal imbalance, and other causes can make that happen

Gynecomastia

Thank you for that very good question.  Gynecomastia surgery is a reduction not removal of all glandular tissue. Complete breast removal would include removing the nipple and areola (mastectomy). That isn't done for your condition.  However, there should not be regrowth of the breast tissue that remains.  Surgery is almost always a permanent solution.

The association of enlarged breasts with Kleinfelter's Syndrome (47XXY) is well know,
A Breast Reduction and sometimes a subtotal mastectomy may be required to cure this condition. I would do so AFTER a full evaluation by an Endocrinologist.

Can the condition recur AFTER the operation? Yes. It is extremely rare but it can recur.

Good Luck
