Hi All experts and Surgeons, I actually have a question regarding HT. Can you do all the grafts at once?

There are some vids on Youtube e.g. a patient with some small temple areas hair loss is going under HT in two stages, stage 1 for example 1100 grafts and after that in 6 months say 600 grafts more. What is the reason? Isn't it possible to do all 1700 grafts in just one procedure? Is it the procedure limitation? Why should he go under two procedures with such a small hair loss? Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQT1CnZ-ytY Cheers, Alec

Doing many grafts all at once

This is the way it should be done rather than multiple small procedures which just makes for more unnecessary surgeries. Most doctors will offer surgical sessions of over 3000 grafts per session. This is common in our practice.

Large Sessions of Hair Transplant

We routinely do Gigasessions of Hair Transplant. We have a trained team of doctors and technicians and the highest we have done till date is 6100 grafts in one sitting.
I personally think it is a strain on the finances as well as other resources to go for repeated sessions especially if the areas to be covered are small.

If you can find a doctor willing to do the surgery the way you describe it should be fine. In general you need to wait

If you can find a doctor willing to do the surgery the way you describe it should be fine. In general you need to wait until the transplanted hairs grow out before you attempt a second surgery.  It takes  6 to 12 months to see the results.
