Is asymetrical swelling normal at 8 weeks post septo/rhino?

Question

I had a septoplasty with turbinate reduction, as well as rhinoplasty adjustments. I'm 8 weeks post op now and the swelling on the right side seems to be going down normally but the left side is still noticeably more swollen. I don't really have any pain anywhere as of now but the left side seems a little more clogged when breathing as well. Is this common at this time and is there anything I can do to help it even out?

Thank you for your question. It usually takes about 6 months before all of the swelling has gone down and at that point you will have a better idea about the finished result. At 8 weeks out it is not uncommon to still have swelling and to have one side more swollen than the other.  Good luck.
