Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to take antibiotics after having an implant placed. The mouth is a smorgasbord of bacteria and it is very easy to have bacteria introduced into an implant sight in many cases. This is why I highly recommend that my patients complete a course of antibiotics after undergoing such a procedure. Good luck and I hope this helps.
