Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to take antibiotics after having an implant placed. The mouth is a smorgasbord of bacteria and it is very easy to have bacteria introduced into an implant sight in many cases. This is why I highly recommend that my patients complete a course of antibiotics after undergoing such a procedure. Good luck and I hope this helps. If needing to replace 10 teeth on your upper arch, I would recommend 6 implants. This would provide enough structure for great functionality and great cosmetics. I would not recommend placing less than 6, because you would have an increased chance of implant failure in the future....
