Gastric bypass for someone without a thyroid.

I have no thyroid and can't loose weight no matter what I try. My doctor says my levels are normal. Will gastric bypass help me lose weight?

Thyroidectomy should not influence your ability to lose weight

Even if your thyroid gland was surgically removed, your body can't tell the difference between the hormone naturally secreted by your body and the synthetic hormone taken by mouth.  Once your doctor has regulated the dose of thyroid hormone you take by measuring your blood level of TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone), you can't blame your weight on your thyroid.  Bariatric surgery will work.
