Pain meds are safe for peels

In fact, a true medium depth chemical peel such as a combination peel with Jessner's and TCA 35% can be very uncomfortable. I will sometimes prescribe pain medications for patients to take prior to the the treatment.

TCA peels are safe while on any pain meds and often are needed for the 30-40% TCA peels for the first day to help make it more comfortable, but don't do the TCA peel yourself at home.
