At this you can probably start doing these things at a low intensity but you should ask your surgeon first. 6-7 weeks is safer.

Generally, you can begin cardio type physical activity at 3-4 weeks however strenuous physical activity (like lifting weights, abdominal crunches) is not permitted until 6 weeks after surgery. Please listen to your surgeon.

This question is most appropriate to ask of your surgeon, who has monitored your progress and healing.

It takes about 6 weeks for the incisions to reach 90% of the healing strength that they will acquire. That is the time at which most surgeons allow return to full activity. I don't think there would be objection to light arm exercises or walking at 4 weeks. But check with your surgeon about the jogging.

We tell our patients that after 3 weeks they can start doing light walking and upper arm exercising with light weights but not lower body for at least 6 weeks.

Post op activity from a tummy tuck

Generally speaking it takes about 6 weeks before complete healing after a tummy tuck.  You should be able to walk on a treadmill and do light arm weights at 4 weeks post op though.  Please follow the advice of your plastic surgeon.

Exercise following tummy tuck.

Thanks for your question.  I typically do not allow my patients to begin any type of weight lifting until six weeks post procedure.  Even lifting with arm weights will engage your abdominal muscles and put unnecessary stress on your tummy tuck prior to the six week mark.

Returning to exercises after Tummy Tuck

You can resume light jogging 3 to 4 weeks after your surgery. As far as weights are concerned, you might want to wait a little longer, up to 3 months, especially if you have the abdominal muscles repaired during the tummy tuck. Always discuss the level of activities with your surgeon. Each surgeon has his or her postoperative regimen regarding this surgery. Start slowly and progressively increase your workout/exercise.
