I just had a double jaw surgery at View Plastic Surgery in Gangnam, Seoul. So I would like to share my review and experience. I would say that I am very satisfied with the outcome of my double jaw surgery and I was well taken cared of by their English team and nurse staff during my two-day hospitalisation. The procedure I had was to make my face appear shorter and reduce the prominence of my chin, so my surgeon at View rotated my jaw inward and as well as did facial contouring. I believe this is a very serious surgery and the recovery for the first 48 hours was also quite tough, I guess tougher than I thought. I would really recommend having someone accompany you as I went alone and found certain things tough to do by myself. Nonetheless, the English team of View helped me as best as they could and I think they went further than what I would expect in helping me have everything I need to recover. I think that I would only trust View for this kind of surgery as I can really tell their protocol has been refined from their decades of experience and they seem to be thoroughly familiar with what happens during and after the surgery. As it's a complex procedure, I could not think of any other place other than View to do this and I feel the result also came as what the surgeon planned. It was also great that the building at View had its own pharmacy, radiology, operating theatre and patient wards, this also mattered a lot as it minimise any further inconvenience if you had to go to another location. I am sharing my photos which is 1 week after, so I still have a lot of swelling and bruising. Hopefully, everything settles fine in a couple of weeks.
Before the Surgery I have never done surgery before, so I was quite ignorant about plastic surgery. However, the doctors in charge kindly explained everything to me about each specific area. They mentioned that my nose has a slight deviation in the middle bridge, leaning towards the left, and they suggested straightening it by grinding a bit and raising it slightly to achieve better balance. They also noted that my facial contours lack symmetry overall, with prominent cheekbones, and proposed addressing the asymmetry and proceeding with three contouring procedures. Although I have been concerned about my face shape, I have been hesitant and have relied on fillers to address my dissatisfaction. Due to my larger cheekbones than others, there were shadows underneath, so I had fillers injected, but the effects disappeared after a month, which was very disappointing. Encouraged by my friends’ words, “If you just correct your face shape, you’ll become a goddess,” I gained confidence and made the decision to undergo plastic surgery. On the day of the surgery : I was so nervous that I couldn’t sleep for even a minute. I arrived at the hospital an hour early to calm myself down. I went up, got examined, waited, and met the doctors. And then It makes me feel like I just wanted it to be over quickly. Before the surgery, they provided a final design, being meticulous and kind, which made me feel reassured. The operating room felt a bit cold and chilly, and after the doctor said, “Now you’re going to sleep~~,” I fell asleep. When I woke up, the surgery was already finished, and I was being held by a nurse and she wheeled me and brought me to the recovery room. It feels like the surgery day passed really quickly. Day 1 : Before being discharged, I went to see the head surgeon to check on my progress. They mentioned that the inside of my nose was completely fractured and deviated. I think that’s why I couldn’t breathe properly all this time. They assured me that the surgery went well and that I will be able to breathe properly now. They also mentioned that today was the scheduled day for removing the cotton inside my nose, but they decided to do it tomorrow to avoid any potential bleeding or discomfort. I’m really grateful for their kindness and consideration. When I saw the surgeon who enhanced my facial contours, I think I immediately said, “Thank you,” as soon as I saw the doctor’s face. LOL They told me that I will look even more beautiful once the swelling goes down and wished me a smooth recovery. When I went up to the recovery room and looked in the mirror, I felt really good. There wasn’t much swelling, no prominent cheekbones, and my nose looked beautiful. I was so excited to video call my friends. The nurses in the recovery room were like angels. Thanks to them, my recovery is going well. 1 Month : The swelling that was around both of my cheeks has now come down to my jaw. I am now getting what it meant by how the swelling will continue to come downwards and will be gone. As for the mouth opening, I can now get two to two and a half fingers in between. I no longer have that sensation of feeling something in my mouth when I chew. I guess I’d still have to be cautious. I used to have that bruised feeling in my face so I had to wash as softly as possible but now I can just wash as I like LOL. I am just so joyful to be hearing how my face has gotten so small from everyone with so much of the swelling gone down. There was some post-operative period when I regretted having gone through the surgery but now I feel the opposite! I regret that I’ve waited too long to get this surgery!! I am not feeling any difficulties as I feel the same as before the surgery. Maybe I’m a bit ahead in my healing process. 3 Month : The swelling has gone down so much to the point that I somewhat miss those times that I had swelling LOL. I would usually have a somewhat inverted triangular face weighing how much I weigh now, but now my contours are so smooth even while losing weight. Also for my nose, during the first-month post-op, I thought a new hump was added to my nose with all the swelling around the nose bridge. But yes! With plastic surgeries, you just need to hang in there!!!! Such a smooth beautiful line, just the way I wanted. I thank all my doctors for it Most of that tightness I used to feel when I smile is gone. I can now easily and naturally give a broad smile. And possibly due to my newly gained confidence, I can confidently go outside without putting any makeup on!!!! The line is becoming more and more perfect both for my nose and my face!!!!!
Let's start from the very beginning, shall we?! I've been researching facial contouring and double jaw surgery for a while now as I wasn't entirely happy with my facial structure. My features had a more masculine appearance and it was something that had bothered me for quite some time. That's when I stumbled upon DocFinderKorea, a medical tourist agency that connects individuals with the right doctors and hospitals in Korea. I reached out to them for their assistance, and let me tell you, they were an absolute godsend! Throughout this whole journey, I had the pleasure of working with Suzy from DocFinderKorea. She was an angel, truly. I have to admit, I can be a handful at times, but Suzy handled everything with such professionalism and genuine care. She helped me find the perfect doctor and hospital while also securing a reservation at a fantastic hotel. To top it off, she even arranged transportation to and from the airport. It was such a relief to have DocFinderKorea by my side during this solo trip. Let's not forget the emotional roller coaster that comes with surgery, both during and after. DocFinder understood this perfectly. They provided unwavering support and made sure I had everything I needed throughout the entire preparation process. Leana, another amazing individual from DocFinder, really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. We had some great chats and laughs along the way. I remember her remarking on how calm I looked on the day of surgery, and I truly was. I knew I was in good hands with the hospital and DocFinder. Thank you, Leana, from the bottom of my heart! Now, let me tell you about the hospital, the View Clinic. This place was truly a one-stop shop for all my needs. Each floor specialized in different services, from dermatology to dental, to surgery. It was absolutely incredible to have everything I needed right there within the hospital walls. Julie and Jasmine, two lovely ladies who assisted me throughout my journey, deserve a special mention. They helped with my appointments and provided translation services. Not only were they incredibly helpful and honest, but they also had a great sense of humor that really put me at ease. Speaking of humor, it's incredibly important to me, especially when embarking on such a life-altering experience in a foreign country. Being able to communicate and connect with others who can make you laugh and help you through the process is invaluable. Now, let's get back to the review. I had double jaw surgery and facial contouring to achieve a more feminine and softer look. It's been 20 days since the surgery, and my face is still a bit swollen, but I have faith that it will all be worth it in the end. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience with DocFinderKorea and the View Clinic. They took care of everything, from connecting me with the right doctors to ensuring my comfort throughout the process. If you're considering medical tourism in Korea, I highly recommend DocFinderKorea. They truly made a difference in my journey towards a happier, more confident me.
· Planning It took a couple of years to decide if I really wanted to get facial plastic surgery, where to do it, with whom, and what was I really expecting from it. There are just too many options, and way too many concerns, but if I had to mention one, in particular, is safety, I suffer from chronic pain and had a horrible experience some years before when I woke up during surgery. My second concern was that I didn’t want a translator or anyone working as an intermediary between me and the clinic, if possible, to be able to prepare everything prior to my travel to be at ease, because stress and haste worsen the chronic pain. The third concern, the kind of results the surgeons would aim for from an aesthetic perspective: while I’m caucasian, I’m not looking for a sexy/curvy look, I’d rather have a natural and fresh look. I went with the first option I checked, View Plastic Surgery. When I contacted them I was able to do so in very fluent English, and they were very upfront about everything, including their fees. I was able to ask about many things directly and didn’t have to wait too much for their replies. I never felt pressured to choose, which was the case with the other three clinics I contacted afterward, and when you are about to have surgery it’s not like you want someone insisting and telling you “you need this surgery” based on your pictures, instead they only suggested when I asked what could be done to certain parts of my face. Once the dates were arranged, the person I was speaking with insisted I took care of my health, he wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be underweight or sick when I arrived at the clinic or they would reject my procedure, that I shouldn't drink alcohol, smoke or take any drugs the weeks prior to it. They have a team specialized in facial bone surgery and I saw many examples of what they are able to do for natural results, and while I liked what I saw, what convinced me is that their medical staff includes anesthesiologist on-site, and this was going to be a longer surgery than the one I had before, I preferred the anesthesiologists being part of the clinic’s staff. They also announce how they have been over 15 years without medical accidents, and I’m guessing this is because they are ready for whatever can happen during the procedure, and how they have at least two surgeons planning and performing surgery. · Arrival at the clinic The day I arrived at the clinic everything was very comfortable and well organized, the staff was very friendly and able to fluently speak English, and there was even a very nice person who was able to speak in Spanish with me. While on one hand, I felt everything was very professional, on the other one I wasn’t nervous because of how easy it was to talk with them. After getting tests, scans, and pictures were taken, I met with Doctor Yun Chang Woon, and it was great that he spoke in English too. Initially, I wanted to reduce the size of my mandible, my face has always been very androgynous and felt like there was something off about it, and also my eyes looked like I had an “I don’t care” expression (I’m also kind of pale and most people assumed I was sick or tired all the time... and I'm not the smiliest person in the world). Doctor Yun was very honest with me and explained how I actually needed some reconstructive surgery, giving me an alternative procedure, double jaw instead of a v-line. I don’t know you, but when told there is something wrong with your facial bones that are going to get worse, of course, you need to correct it: my facial contour was longer on the left side, my chin was too projected to the front and my profile was concave, this made it look as if my face was sinking at the center and sideways, plus having problems keeping my teeth straight even with a retainer. He pointed at how it was noticeable in pictures, but seeing the scans was very definitive and decided to have the procedures suggested by him. I suspect this happened to my face due to my falling on top of my chin from a swing when I was 7yo… Doctor Yun also pointed out that I had a good occlusion in my mouth and therefore they would be able to perform everything at the same time, and that I would need to go back to my orthodontist in a couple of months after surgery. The procedures we decided on were: upper and lower ptosis correction, genioplasty, zygoma reduction, mandible and angle reduction (double jaw surgery), plus the insertion of a prosthesis behind my nose cartilage in order to get a more convex profile. After that, I talked with another person about the risks related to those procedures, about responsibility on each part, and to learn about the recovery and what was expected for aftercare. I took my time to read everything, which again, was well written in English and I wouldn’t have signed anything that would have needed to be translated to me by another person. They replied to several questions I made and I felt satisfied with how everything was proceeding. · Surgery Next day was my surgery, I decided to pay a deposit in advance in order to have surgery on a fixed date, that way I was able to organize the days until they removed the stitches as a vacation plan in Seoul. I got changed into some pajamas and then met again with Dr. Yun, he said my test came ok and how they would proceed with my surgery, and after that, they brought me to the operating room. Everything was very fast, there were a lot of nurses around and I didn’t feel nervous because of how well organized everything felt. Once I was laying down, the anesthesiologist ‘connected’ my arm to an intravenous line, I was surprised because I didn’t feel any pain, and then I just fell asleep at some point. The surgery took around 5’5h and they woke me up before leaving the operating room to tell me they were finished and that everything went as planned. I stayed overnight in a room with a huge flat TV, there they explained that I had to wait some hours to be able to drink water, and how to use the product they had ready for gargles and how often I had to use it. I was surprised when I saw my face because I didn’t have any stitches in my face aside from the ones on my eyelids, they performed all the surgeries from inside my mouth, wow. Also, my eyes! Even with how swollen they were I could see them more open and bright than it used to be. There weren’t that many bruises, I was really surprised at how not bad it looked. It was very comfortable staying there since I could walk around the room and the hallway outside, it was a very quiet floor, and there was a fridge where I could exchange the cold packs I was given, plus the bed was amazingly comfortable. I must say I didn’t feel any pain or incommodity from the tubes in my mouth, it was just weird having to lay flat on my back to sleep, nothing else. The next day I was able to leave the building, they gave me a card with the date of my after-care: stitches removal and deswelling treatment. The nice person who spoke Spanish accompanied me to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions and made sure I understood how I had to proceed with everything. Even the person in the pharmacy explained everything in English, how to apply the cream on my eyes when to take or not the extra painkillers. While I did pay for the prescriptions, I was given the pumpkin juice, gargle bottles, and cold packs by the clinic. · After-care Both I and my husband were surprised at how the locals would ignore the state of my face, haha, in other countries people would even get close to you and ask what happened to you assuming you had an accident or the like, but in Seoul seems like people are used to bandages and swollen faces. In Seoul, it is easy to find face masks in pharmacies or stores like Daiso, but I wore these just to avoid direct sunlight exposure since people don’t really pay attention to your face. Oddly enough, they reacted strongly to the tattoos on my arms when those were showing. Ah, and you should be careful since some people will most likely bump into you when it is crowded and it is common to find people walking while staring at their smartphones. I did walk around 10km daily, some days I would even walk up to 15km, they strongly recommended to walk to help with the swelling, not to eat spicy food and to apply the cold mask regularly. I was very comfortable all the time, at had lots of fun going around the city. Of course, I couldn’t eat kimchi nor bbq, but I will leave that for next time. The third day after surgery was the peak of the swelling, my lips went dark and all full of blood and hurt a bit, it was really uncomfortable, but this was the ‘worst’ part, everything got better from here on. I had the contact of one of the assistants and was able to ask if this was ok, she reassured me that everything was fine and that I could visit the clinic if I felt there was something wrong. Still, I didn’t need to use the extra painkillers I was given. On my first checkup I got my eye stitches removed and the ones inside my mouth checked, one of the assistants held my hand during the process since it can be a bit uncomfortable, she made sure I could relax. They insisted I tried to do my best with oral hygiene, it can be a bit challenging because of how swollen it can get inside the mouth. They also checked I was properly wearing the velcro band, not too adjusted nor too loose, and that I would not wear it all the time; in my case, this was the most confusing part because I was sure if I was doing it properly, but I was able to ask them a lot. While I was waiting I saw Oli London, I guess you can spot famous people in plastic surgery clinics, haha. I met again with Doctor Yun and he exclaimed “how did you get so thin??”, but I explained I can’t eat dairy, wheat or sugary stuff, and there aren’t many soft things I could eat during those days, nice that he would pay attention to that. I feel like this surgeon had a genuine interest in his patients, since the start his attitude and expression were coherent and focused on what I expected to obtain and what he thought was needed to perform. He said everything was looking great with my face so far, at this time he was smiling and seemed satisfied with the results so far, this made me feel even better. He explained that I had to train my eyelids by carefully opening them wide and moving my eyes in all directions to help the muscles regain movement and adjust to the new position; for the mouth, that I shouldn’t chew hard things while my zygoma bones got fixed in place again. I received some deswelling treatment, but apparently, I didn’t need much since it was going away properly enough. Two weeks after surgery they removed the stitches inside my mouth and gave me the ok to go back home, by then I had no problems eating and go back to work. · Back home I requested copies of the before and after surgery scans and x-rays for my orthodontist, that way I was able to get braces two months after surgery, my retainers didn’t fit at all after surgery, it was a completely different mouth (this said by my orthodontist). They gave me a letter detailing the procedures, this is useful when you have to show your passport in airports to justify why your face looks different from the picture in the id, or in case you have any kind of complications or get surgery again. It’s been six months since surgery, my face has been getting slimmer each month and has minimal ‘double chin’, I only see it when I tuck my chin a bit, but it isn't a concern. In general, I like how bright my expression looks now, it reflects better how I feel. Did I get the natural and fresh look I wanted? Yes, definitively. The experience with View Plastic Surgery has been perfect, I can’t think of anything that could have been done better, especially when compared to my previous experience in another country/clinic. They have been communicative, friendly, and professional. In fact, I wish to go back in a couple of years to the same clinic for rhinoplasty and for facial lifting, once I’m finished with the braces and also to let my face time to recover from surgery. · One year after I knew I would need to consider skin shagging and that lifting procedures may be needed after complete recovery, but I'm surprised I didn't develop a double chin, nor is my skin visibly dropping or shagging. Most probably I'll pursue ultherapy skin tightening in the future, for now, I want to wait two years after surgery to let my skin completely recover. Muscle tone in the face and oral environment are responsible for keeping the bone in place and affects facial symmetry, after correcting the issues related to the bone structure, there are some issues that needed other specialists: - My orthodontic treatment has been progressing much better than previously, my bite has become functional and my dentist and orthodontist attribute this to the surgery. - I've consulted a physiotherapist about the muscles that were dropping on the right side of my face due to the previous bone asymmetry, and it would be interesting that I learn some exercises and facial massage to help the muscle tone, which will also result in the skin tightening. On another note, I was interested in rhinoplasty, mainly to change the shape of my nose tip. Now I'm certain that it was a good thing it was not compatible with the other procedures received, and that it will be better to wait and see how my face progresses and take a decision in the future. Updated on 31 May 2020: The copies of the xrays I requested for my orthodontist were a great help, I was able to get braces two months after surgery and made everything so fast. It is also interesting to observe what was done, and those are actually very subtle changes to the bone for how well it is reflected on the outside.
I got my double lid surgery along with ptosis correction and epi only on the right eye at view plastic surgery clinic, s.korea. It has been one month since then and i still have swelling which was expected. I like my crease so far and i guess its gonna go even lower?? as the swelling subsides. I chose this clinic through docfinder cause i liked their before and after photos plus an influencer i admire went here albeit for a different procedure. I wasn’t sure about my surgeon at first (he seemed young?) but my consultations with him were fine although he didnt speak english my road manager and the clinic consultant did a fine job at letting him know what i needed. Thankfully he did warn me abt pain during ptosis before the surgery, i have low tolerance for pain and i found it really painful towards the end of my surgery i think?? Idk i was hallucinating/dreaming the entire time but i remember that pain.. it was awful for me. But after the surgery i had no pain except a bit of discomfort on the lids. Oh and i also remember the doctor talking a lot at the end to the nurse i think?? While i was still half conscious and That annoyed me mostly cause i found it disturbing my dream and honestly it felt like a lot of talking when he was finishing up on my eyes..i cant be too sure lmao. I was really anxious as this was my first ps experience so i feel like i rushed my consultation a bit cause i just wanted to get it done with. My only regret would be is to have been more mentally prepared and ask more questions to my surgeon. I did watch several youtube videos on double eyelid surgeries so i felt a bit more relaxed afterwards lol. I had a good experience and my recovery in seoul was great, i stayed there for 9 days after surgery. I started getting impatient and anxious only after i flew back home. I had been getting headaches 2 weeks post-op and i thought it was because of the surgery but as it turns it was cause i have astigmatism and the correct lens and prescription fixed that so no more headaches :) I really wish i had gotten the pumpkin juice provided by docfinder as i feel like it really helped with the swelling :( I’m really excited for the final results now and there has been no other complications so far. My only worry is that i wanted an inline (tapered) but the left eye seems to be a lil parallel but cant be sure since the clinic says its still swollen so will have to wait and see how it progresses. Overall im really pleased that i finally got this done as i’d been wanting it since i was 20 (i’m 25 now). I really hope i’m completely satisfied with my results by next year. Worth it for now. If I were to undergo another surgery I would definitely go back to this place. Because the doctors are highly skilled and compassionate with their work. They pay attention on what u wanted and details . I'm very happy on how my vline and nose turned out. Dr Lee Dong Chan delivered the result I wanted. I showed him the pic that I edited. And he said its possible. I'm so ecstatic when I heard it from him.and he delivers that result I wanted . I truly admire his skills . And I actually saw him in Let me in Thailand .and saw how she transformed this lady . That's why I'm convinced that he will perform my surgery. He is very patient and he listen to my opinion. I'm 4 months post op now . And I'm so pleased of my result. And they said that Facial contouring takes up to one year to recover.so far I didny feel any pain . And I've been eating and talking fine. No discomforts but just some numbness and swelling. Even if I'm back in the USA if I have some questions they will still reply back to me. I cant thank enough the doctors and staff for their kindness and genuine care. They truly take good care of their patient. .I highly recommend this place. And what makes me choose them the most is they make sure the safety of every patient no hospital accident for 14 years. .

A few years ago I had a v-line jaw reduction surgery at a different hospital in Korea, and about a year post op I had some extra skin and fat around my chin and neck, and just overall I wanted a better profile. I consulted with a lot of different hospitals in Seoul but most doctors suggested that I do only a thread lift to fix the problem, which I did some research on and I know it's very temporary and not a dramatic difference. Finally I met Dr. Yun and the kind staff at View! They suggested I get a neck lift to fix the side effects from my v-line, and it would be a big and much more permanent result which is what I was looking for. I also got a fat graft from another doctor at View which I'll write a separate review on later. At this point I'm 2 months post op. I had my consultation, blood tests, chest xray, pictures and everything done on the same day. The hospital building is hugeee and clean, and has a ton of people working there. There were a lot of other foreigner patients, including caucasian patients like myself which was reassuring since a lot of clinics in Korea don't have experience with doing surgery on non-Asian faces. I met with Stacey who is the manager of View, and she discussed all the side effects and how my surgery would go. The english consultants Leighton and REEEEE helped me through the whole process of getting ready on my surgery day. They even held my hand when I got my IV in since I'm terrified of needles which was super sweet! I ended up having my surgery on a saturday and it lasted for over 6 hours. When I woke up my face was already really swollen so I couldn't see how my result was for quite a while after. After surgery I stayed in a recovery room overnight. I was super out of it from the anesthesia but I do think I got a little sleep. The next day Dr. Yun came in the morning to check up on me. He said I still had a lot of swelling so I had to keep my drains in for another day. I didn't have much pain, but the big swelling just felt really uncomfortable and I honestly didn't do much for the first week other than half pay attention to youtube videos. I stayed in the VIP room at View, which is like their own hotel within the hospital building itself. It was actually really nice and so convenient to be so close since I had a lot of post op appointments. There was a lot of hot water and fast wifi so I was really happy. Getting my drains hurt, actually kind of a lot. I didn't have any other pain during the whole process other than that. I also got a single staple put behind my ear where the incision was but that surprisingly didn't feel like much. I got my hair washed at the mini salon (which is actually INSIDE OF VIEW) which was really nice, since you're not allowed to get your face wet after the surgery for a while. After the 5 day mark (and after a deswelling treatment) I was feeling loads better and my swelling went down significantly. Even getting my stiches out after 2 weeks wasn't bad either! Overall I was very happy with the treatment of the staff, the professionalism of View, and my result from Dr. Yun. :) Updated on 10 Jan 2019: During the first 2 weeks of recovery, I started to look very normal with not a lot of bruising. Just a little on my neck but that was the only thing, which was easy to cover with makeup. Even at the 1 month mark, I had quite a bit of numbness on the sides of my face near my ears incisions. At this point my stitches were removed so I've been continuously using scar gels since.
Hi All, just wanted to share my experience of the procedures i had and the overall results with those who are interested. Procedures done (In May 2018) -Cheekbone reduction -V line (In Nov 2018) -Full face fat graft -Acculift The doctor who did my bone shaving surgeries was Dr LEE DONG CHAN. Very professional and charming doctor. Whats important is really his professionalism and sincerity. I even took a picture with him on the last day (: The doctor who did my fat grafting and acculift was Dr LEE HUN YOUNG. In my opinion, she is really pretty and considerate. Not to mention she speaks excellent English as well. All in all, i am very please with the service by View. The English staff that i have been liaising with were always there for me. We still keep in contact and thats the reason why i always go back to View should i want to get anything touched up. For both results and service! Just wanted to share for those are keen to getting anything to consider View for both service and results.
I've noticed that as I've gotten older the baby fat in my face has started to disappear. I wanted to add more 3D volume to my face and look more refreshed so I decided I wanted to do a fat graft as an alternative to fillers, which will hopefully give me long term results with proper after care and maintaining my weight. I decided to go to View after reading other positive reviews online. I couldn't find a single bad review about them. The consultants were great about answering my questions, lol even when I felt like I was bombarding them with probably the same questions. Once I got the clinic everyone was really sweet and nice and definitely put my mind at ease. Even though it's a commonly performed surgery I was still a little nervous so having their support really helped! Dr Lee Hoon Young performed my surgery yesterday and I have to say it was pretty painless. I'm a little bruised and swollen which is to be expected, but I was happy that the Dr Lee performs the surgery under IV sedation vs general anesthesia making the recovery process easier. The photos are from before and a few hours post fat graft surgery. I'm happy with the results so far and will post updated photos as I recover and everything starts to settle a little more :)
