Q: Plastic Surgery Financing - What Are Some Reputable Lenders?
Answered by Dr. VegaFebruary 7, 2015

A: Financing for plastic surgery can be accomplished with many lenders and banks.   We use Care Credit in my practice.  They have options for interest free payments which is very attractive for our clients.  We also accept most major credit cards for payment.

Q: What is recovery like with a mommy makeover?
Answered by Dr. VegaFebruary 7, 2015

A: Mommy Makeover is a popular term for women who want to try to regain some of the youthfulness of their bodies after childbearing.  Childbearing has a tendency to cause sagging of the breasts and looseness or extra skin of the belly.  The answer for everyone is different.   Some women need enhancement of their breast with implants while others need reduction of their breasts with a lift.  Some women need extended tummy tucks while others need a little tuck or a little lipo.   All women should see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for a consult.  You should expect to receive a very individualized surgical plan. Good luck with your search!

Q: 375cc or 400cc Implants for Breast Augmentation?
Answered by Dr. VegaFebruary 7, 2015

A: This is a tough question to answer without consulting with you.  There are many things to discuss.  First, you are taller than average, and taller women need larger implants to achieve the same breast size.  A C cup on a woman 5'0" tall is not the same as a woman 5' 7" tall.  The difference is easily 100cc.  Second, all breasts are not created equal and some have more laxity or looseness in the envelope which requires a larger implant.  If you are young and have not had children this is very different from the women who have had children and experienced the breast expansion that comes with pregnancy.  From a profile standpoint, think of the moderate plus profile as a more projected implant and the moderate profile as a wider implant size for size.  As you go bigger for your base breast width you have to go to a higher profile.  And last but not least, most surgeons are not making decisions about 25 cc, but +/-50 cc to see a noticeable difference in your breast size.  Good luck and stick with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons!

Q: How Do You Massage Breasts After Breast Augmentation?
Answered by Dr. VegaFebruary 7, 2015

A: I tell patients that have smooth round implants to move their implants up, down, to the middle and to the sides at least three times a day starting postoperative day 2-3.  This makes sure that the pocket that was created during surgery is still as open and supple as it was the day it was created.  This helps with implant position and appearance and leads to a more natural result.   I often find that the girls who are not massaging, see a big difference in the office when we show them how to perform the massage.

Q: How to Make Your Boobs Bigger - Pills or Creams?
Answered by Dr. VegaFebruary 7, 2015

A: Your best bet is to gain weight if you want your breasts to get bigger.  The problem with this approach is that it is inconsistent for many women.  Some women will gain in their bust, but many will not, and many others will also gain in areas where they do not want fat.  Creams and pills are a waste of your money.  Although your gynecologist may be able to prescribe estrogen or hormone related meds, you have to be careful about taking these hormones as they may have unintended consequences.
