There may be a few reasons why the Botox
isn’t giving you the result you expected.
· Have you waited the full 14 days since your injection? We recommend to clients to wait before making any determinations about how the Botox is working
· If you’ve been getting injections, you may have built up a tolerance. This is rare, but can happen. In this instance, you can try and alternative, such as Dysport or Xeomin
· The Botox was mixed improperly
Reach out to your injector and ask their recommendation.
Lip fillers are usually intended to be soft and malleable after being injected. They last approximately 12-18 mos. People tend to come in for a touch up starting around the 6 month mark.
We primarily use Juvederm or Volbella, depending on the result a client wants. Volbella can give very subtle, plumping results. Juvederm can give more defined plumping. Definitely discuss with your injector so you are both clear on the results you’d like.
You should feel very comfortable with your injector. Look up their work (photos) and talk to their clients. We’ve seen experienced nurses and doctors do amazing work. Injecting is both art and science, so it takes practice, a skilled hand and eye to deliver great results.
We tend to be on the conservative side, and recommend the following to clients after injections:
• Avoid exercising 24 hours after receiving Botox (before injections is ok)
• Not to lay down for 4 hours after the injection
• Avoid massaging the area for x hours
The intent of these steps is to help ensure the Botox stays in the muscle where injected.
