I have acne scars from cystic acne that I fought throughout my 20's and 30's with every ingestible and topical treatment known to man - with no avail. I had subsicion done 15 years ago that had subtle results. Now that breakouts are under control, I had a professional advise me that fractional lasers were my best bet. While researching fraxel repair, I happened upon Dr. Weiner and Dr. Lim's reviews and videos on Infini RF....and new research began! After weeks of reading reviews and case studies and watching videos, I scheduled a consult with a highly rated institution. I'm now two weeks post Infini RF round one. The treatment was a bit painful but tolerable. I figure 30 minutes of tolerable pain doesn't compare to 20 years of emotional pain. Amanda applied a growth serum immediatly after and advised me not to do a thing to my face for 24 hours. There was redness and swelling and it felt like I had a sun burn. That all went away within 3 days. My skin also felt rough for about a week due to the micro scabs from the procedure. I was very gentle while cleansing as to not scrape any scabs. They were not visible. I've seen very slight improvements in my scars..but I'm so excited in the progress. They say that after the third week through the sixth I will see the most improvement. I can't wait. This is not an overnight miracle...it takes patience....comparable to orthodontics....you don't wake up the next day after braces with straight teeth!! It takes time! My current regimine consists of cetaphil cleanser then tretinoin cream (generic retin a) at night with cetaphil as moisturizer on top. In the morning I cleanse and apply vitamin c serum and more cetaphil moisturizer. I take hair and skin vitamins with collagen booster, as well as a multivitamin and vitamin c chewable. I'm eating and drinking clean and I quit smoking. I'm taking a holistic approach, as this is the most important and exciting advenute I have ever undertaken!! Lastly, I have plans for TCA CROSS on the stubborn scars after this phase and have discussed subsicion with fillers and possibly an ablative peel to top things off. My goal is to be comfortable in my skin and to have this transition complete by the end of 2017! Round two is scheduled for 1-13-17. I'll be updating throughout my journey! :) Updated on 30 Dec 2016: Well...here I am three weeks post round one of Infini RF with my update. I see a very small change in my scars. Some days I'm pumped because this is even happening..and some days I'm bummed because I want these dang scars off my face and its such a process. I was hoping to see a bit more of a difference by now, actually, but I'm glad I can at least see something. Seems the retain a is making my skin shiny....will this go away? Man, I hope so! It did get very flaky and still is a bit and a bit red. I think it has made me break out a bit around my chin too.....could be the holiday treats as well! ;) I love how fresh and soft my skin feels but really don't like the shiny....at all. I'm posting some pics from this evening compared to the night before my first procedure. Any comments? Can you see a difference? I need some non biased opinions. Can't wait till this journey is complete and I can enjoy my reflection! Updated on 7 Jan 2017: I've been concerning myself with a certain doctor's negative reviews on here regarding infini and other "energy devices". He has had me doubting my decision on Infini RF. My progress pics this week, however, speak for themselves. I'm at my fourth week post round one and my results are starting to impress me. I certainly feel better this week about it all. What a journey. I'm very pleased so far! I'm considering TCA CROSS between treatments to work on the deeper scars around my mouth and chin. Also looking into taking zink for my breakouts. I'm on retin a and this may be bringing things to the surface. I hope Negative Nelly checks out my progress....maybe he has an agenda!? Round 2 is next Friday the 13th.... I can't wait! :) Updated on 13 Jan 2017: I know I said round two of my Infini was scheduled for 1/13/17, but since we had ice falling from the sky my treatment has been postponed until 2/10/17! I still see improvement from round one! I'll post updates and pics after round two. Updated on 8 Mar 2017: As you can see from my posts, my second treatment was delayed for six extra weeks due to weather, etc. I had been feeling like the progress on my scar revision was somewhat reversing. I took a few pics the night before my 2nd treatment and thought I'd share the comparison just for everyone to see. I believe there was some reversal after about week 8 or so. Check out the comparison pic. The first is the night before my first treatment. The middle is 4 weeks post first treatment and the last one is 12 Weeks Post first treatment. I can see a difference. I did proceed with my second treatment last Friday. My microswelling is subsiding and I'm still rough with scabs. I'll post more pics when I see some improvement! Hopefully it doesn't reverse again!? Updated on 24 Mar 2017: Today I am exactly 3 Weeks post second Infini treatment. I have pics that show my baseline and today. I see improvement but it seems to be about the same as the improvement I had at 3 Weeks post my first treatment. I looked better at 4 weeks post my first treatment and it seems it reverted a bit after that. I can tell a slight difference but I really thought that it would be more by now, considering the level of discomfort and the cost. I seem to have a bit of fat loss, maybe, above my lip on both sides of my mouth. It is sinking in a bit and you can see a shadow like a mustache when the light hits just right. I'm not getting my upper lip done again- just in case! I've started using a weaker dose of retin a - .025, as the .1 was just too much for my skin. I'm still going to have my 3rd treatment in a week just to see how much more improvement I may get. I do, however, have 3 separate consults scheduled with some specialists to see if they can do some punch excision and CO2 laser resurfacing. I believe my scars are just too severe and need a more aggressive approach. Acne scar revision is definitely psychologically exhausting! I'll post pics next week before my 3rd treatment, then after as well! Updated on 1 Apr 2017: So. I was supposed to have my 3rd Infini treatment yesterday. Turns out, on the way to Skin Solutions (it's almost 2 hour drive for me), I was in the process of having a reaction to some antibiotics that my GP prescribed for a non related issue. I had a headache that was progressing since morning but I was so determined not to miss my treatment (AGAIN)!! By the time I walked into Dr. Miller's, my face, chest and neck was covered in red swollen blotches and my eyes looked like I had been pepper sprayed! Jean at the front desk noticed immediately! Lora got me right in to a private room and Dr. Miller and her nurse came in to check me. Dr. Miller was so sweet and generally concerned for my health. She took my blood pressure and heart rate and asked me questions. She gave me an antihistamine and water and made me stay until I was showing signs of improvement. She prescribed me some meds and advised me of when I should seek ER! She advised not to take antibiotic until consulting with my GP. Of course, she couldn't allow my treatment to proceed, which I understand completely. I was a mess! I have it rescheduled for the end of May. So....here we go again....more impatiently waiting! I've uploaded some 4 week pics for the 2nd Tx. I see some more improvement and I'm really excited to see what the third one will bring!! Updated on 25 May 2017: Well, here I am, 12 Weeks Post my 2nd Infini treatment. My 3rd is tomorrow....FINALLY! There have been so many interruptions! I can see changes for sure in my scars. It's been difficult due to the wait between treatments and I've found that I'm not as patient as I ever bragged to be. I see the most improvement in my left cheek. The scars there are more wide, saucer/rolling over each other. When I'm in diffused light I feel really good, but that dang direct and overhead lighting brings me down. My right side has improved. The scars are rolling, but spaced out all over. I can tell when the light hits that their shadows are less deep, but still visible. The scars on my neck don't cast as bad either. The tethered scars on my chin and around my mouth still show. I can tell a few are more shallow, you can see in the side profile pics I've shared. But when I smile....which I realized I don't do very much anymore(not truly)....the tethered ones get so deep. These will be subcised and filled very soon. I have fractional co2 scheduled for August 18, so maybe that will get me even more improvement after my last Infini tomorrow. I'm posting pics which include side by sides of before any treatments and then today. I try to stay in the exact same light, with the exact same angle (which is very hard to do) and use exact same camera. Let me know what you think? Check out the difference in the shadows of the deeper scars. I see change. And I'd like to note that previously I had a concern with possible fat loss in my upper lip due to Infini, but I checked pics I took well before treatment began and my lip already had the indentions. This, I believe, is due to loosing 80 lbs over the last few years. I'm getting it fixed though! :) I'll post more progress pics after my swelling goes down post round 3! And, of course, I will do a separate review on the laser. Updated on 25 May 2017: I've added these in the name of science, to show that my lip indention was truly visible prior to treatment....And it's a pretty good side by side of progress in my left cheek. I'm not fond of showing so much face without makeup. Updated on 17 Jul 2017: Here's an update for 7 Weeks Post my third Infini! I'll do updated pics in 4 weeks, right before a different treatment I have scheduled for my scars! Don't misunderstand me, I'm glad I had Infini. I've seen improvement, and I'm sure I will see more in the months to come. It's so hard to tell with just pics, but I'll upload some anyway! I believe this procedure is worth it. Maybe the cost of each procedure will decrease slightly once it's been around a while longer, making it easier for everyone to access! My rolling scars saw the best improvement. The ice pic/small follicle scars saw the least. I'm glad I decided to try Infini. Maybe I should have gotten 3 more? I may in the future, depending on results I get from an alternate procedure. I hope my emotional, amature, controlled review helps someone decide what to do for their scars. If you are within driving distance to St. Louis Skin Solutions, go! You will get great service from these ladies, and they really seem to care! My journey continues! Updated on 7 Aug 2017: I found some pics I took of myself last summer with my generic phone. I decided to take pics with the same crappy phone in the same lighting to see if I saw a difference. The attached side by sides are what I see as far as improvement. There were no filters used on any of the pics, as my phone doesn't even have that option. I have the same amount of foundation on in all of the pics. This is just from summer 2016 until summer 2017. 3 Infini RF treatments and retin a every night and good vitamins for about 8 months. I see a big difference. Sorry for the quality of my phone camera...I've been spending all my extra money on my face!! :)
Do not trust this company! During the middle of my electrolysis treatment, they raised the price astronomically from $150 per hour to $350 per hour. They obviously did not care about my treatment plan or the promises they made when I started it. They blamed staffing issues, but not having staff means you offer fewer appointments, not raise the price by $200 per hour. If you decide to use St. Louis Skin Solutions, they’ll be nice and tell you what you want to hear, but be prepared for a bait and switch.
