She then completed an internship at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and two residencies in family practice and dermatology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. Dr. Sperling was chief resident during both of these residencies. Sperling Dermatology is Above and Beyond.

I went to Dr Sperling for the Neograft procedure. The procedure went really well. Dr Sperling and her staff could not have been more professional and reassuring about my concerns. There is no pain during the procedure and mild to no pain after the procedure is complete. I was able to coach my daughters softball game the next day. It took about a week for the swelling and the hair in the donor...

The Coolsculpting reviews scare you...

I am not a fan of needles so lipo was not an option. Took a minute to find the best method for me with results. I’m 5’6” and 182lb. I’m somewhat active/athletic and exercise occasionally outside of walking a lot, but I can’t seem to lose my “gutt”. After reading most of these reviews I was a bit nervous about the level of pain to expect. The staff at Sperling Dermatology was very knowledg...

4 Q&A

Q: Does Coolsculpting Work on Inner Thighs?
Answered by Dr. SperlingJune 26, 2018

A: Coolsculpting is a non- invasive procedure to reduce fat cells in the area that is targeted. Coolsculpting can be done on the arms, abdomen, bra fat, love handles (flank), double chin, and inner and outer thighs.

It is best to get a consultation to see if you are a candidate and what the best treatment plan is for you.

Q: Zeltiq CoolSculpting - Pain, Bruising, Risks?
Answered by Dr. SperlingJune 26, 2018

A: Thanks for your question. Coolsculpting is a non- invasive treatment with minimal side effects or downtime. The suction feels like a strong pull on the skin, and then the skin feels cold. After a few minutes, you don't feel much. My patients often watch Netflix, read a book, do work, or even take a nap during the procedure.

The suction and temperature control is monitored and maintained throughout the treatment.

After the procedure, you can have some mild discomfort and sensitivity in the area for a few days to a few weeks which resolves.

Q: How Long Does the Coolsculpting Procedure Last and How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Answered by Dr. SperlingJune 26, 2018

A: Thanks for your question.

A typical Coolsculpting procedure for the arms, abdomen, flank (love handles), or inner thighs are 35 minutes. The outer thighs are 75 minutes and chin is 45 minutes. If larger areas are done with the max applicator (which treats 2 1/2 times the area as a regular applicator), that treatment is also 45 minutes.

Our office currently has 3 machines, so multiple areas can be treated at the same time, reducing the time of treatment significantly.

At our office, we look you over and come up with the ideal treatment plan that fits your specific body.

Many people are happy with a single treatment, while others will choose to treat the areas again.

Q: Can you get laser treatment one day before you going to beach or after you come back from beach?
Answered by Dr. SperlingMarch 12, 2017

A: You didn't specify what laser treatment you are getting, but in general, it is best to avoid sun exposure a few weeks prior to and after laser treatment.  Speak with with your dermatologist so they can review the details with you. Have a good trip- don't forget your sunscreen!
