I have a consult scheduled with Stacey at Skin Savvy RX on July 12th! After initially losing 28 (early menopause) pounds I gained 7 lbs back after my first BA/BL surgery on Nov. 2015. I’ve had two revisional surgeries since that time and have struggled to take the weight off and then keep it off. Most of it is due to stubborn fat on my tummy and flanks! I’m hoping with the help of Skin Savvy RX, SculpSure and some serious exercise I can rid my tummy of that nasty stubborn fat for good this time! Stay tuned! :) I will report back after my consultation! I am receiving this complimentary treatment through the RealSelf “RealFriends” program! Updated on 18 Jul 2018: Hi all - I had my consultation with Stacey at Skin Savvy RX yesterday! I was supposed to go on July 12, but Stacey had a conflict and then I had a conflict so we rescheduled for yesterday. I work approx. 2 miles from their medspa so it's super convenient for me. I'm not going to take up to much of your time now. If you want a really detailed review with tons of info about the procedure, Mdlg5 has posted a really thorough review of what to expect before, during and after the procedure... dos and don'ts, etc. I'm going to get right to the nitty gritting! The medspa itself is beautiful. Nice boutique with lots of products, etc. No real wait time which tells me they don't stack patients one on top of the other. They really take their time and schedule appointments so you don't feel rushed. Stacey was awesome. Very nice, very knowledgeable, took time to answer any questions I had and also made you feel really comfortable. I'm going to speak directly to any ladies in my area now.... I didn't feel inferior or old and unattractive while I was there! I mention this because sometimes South Tampa gets a bad rap (and usually justifiably so), for being kind of douchey. A lot of the spas are filling with really young 20 something year olds trying to sell you products and procedures to look younger and what do they really know about aging! Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I felt very comfortable there, and with Stacey and Patty at the front desk was really great too! As I said, Stacey was really thorough and honest with what to expect. She said it would realistically take probably 10 - 12 weeks to see results. We decide the best areas for me are upper tummy, lower tummy and flanks, which is exactly the area I hoped I would be a good candidate for! So I'm super excited! She is going to do what she referred to as a "pyramid" placement. I think that's she called it. Similar to the photo I posted I think, and then two on each flank. She thinks I'm a good candidate for this! My first treatment is on Monday so I will report back Monday eve! Huge shout-out to Realself/RealFriends and Cynosure for partnering and offering such a wonderful opportunity, and to Skin Savvy for happily agreeing to take part in it! Feeling grateful! Stay tuned! Updated on 22 Jul 2018: I'm up next! :) Tomorrow is my first treatment with Stacey at Skin Savvy RX! Excited, but nervous. So many of you alls experiences are so different! Some have pain! Some only have minor soreness and little swelling... some have lots of swelling and nodules... No clue what to expect except I think everyone seems to feel that over all it's not too painful and the hardest part is the WAITING! Waiting to see results! I purchase this massage to help me remember to massage. It was $10 on Amazon. Hope everyone is feeling well. I'll update you all tomorrow. xo! Updated on 23 Jul 2018: Hi ladies - I'm home from my treatment. Stacey was awesome. She stayed in the room with me and we chatting the whole time. I don't know if I mentioned she does microblading and permanent makeup too. Excited about that! So go undressed, she took photos and the we got down to business! She started with the top of my tummy, placing the plates rectangularly like in the photo I posted yesterday. The the bottom of my tummy next placing them long ways like in the photo (but not the middle where my belly button is, that was round two). The procedure itself is...... pretty uncomfortable. Not going to say painful really, but more uncomfortable and for a longer period of time then the heat that I felt with the SkinTyte treatments on my right breast. And the cramping.... uhhgggg.... that was uncomfortable. After 5 minute for so though you get used to it and you sort of forget about it. Chatting with her helped keep me distracted and the cool burst were really welcomed. She offered at any time to shoot a quick 15 seconds of cool air if at any time I felt a needed it. She said I did great. After that 25 minutes were up, she repositioned the plates and did the middle of my tummy and my flanks, as seen in my photos. I didn't think to take pics during the first session. It was somewhat easier this time because I was used to it, and also because she said the lower tummy definitely is more uncomfortable for most than the flanks. 25 minutes went by in a blink as we talked about The Bachelorette! Becca sent Colton home last week and tonight is the overnights with the remaining guys! LOL! So my tummy is tender. Crampy feeling is fading. I feel little sort like you all have described.... like after an ab workout. That's pretty much it. I drank a lot of water today and still am. I'll massage tonight before bed and again in the a.m. And just wait... Just be patient and see if it works for me! I'm disgusted when I look at my tummy in 2015 after my first surgery and then now. It's been an emotional couple of years and I'm excited to get my life back. Cut the carbs out and start working out more regularly. I am seriously about losing the 7 pounds I've gained back. I may go back on my BHRT too. I felt best when my hormones were balanced. The experience was great though! Stacey makes you feel really comfortable. She is honest about expectations, results and how you're going to feel during the procedure. Everything went wonderfully! Updated on 25 Jul 2018: Hi all - Just checking in. Feeling fine. A little tender and puffy in the tummy on the left and right side of my belly button where the stubborn fat is... just that little pooch area. The of my stomach and flanks feel fine. That red spot on the right is where a module is. The nodule has gotten a lot smaller. The left side has a nodule too and is slightly bruised. It almost looks veiny actually. That could just be my body/skin though. I’m getting old! :). That’s it for now.... I’m sure in a few days the inflammation and soreness will subside! Updated on 20 Aug 2018: Hi all - Wish I had more time to spend here but it has been a crazy, busy few weeks or so. I may not have time to comment on everyone’s updates and posts but I have been checking in from time to time and it looks like every is happy with their progress, and healing, etc!! YAY!! I’m 4 weeks today. I go on Friday for my second treatment. I do still have a stubborn nodule on my left side. It’s smaller, but I can still feel it when I get in there and really massage the area! I have noticed my jeans are not as tight though so I do think it might be working a bit! I’m only 4 weeks though and Stacey said it could take 10 - 12 so I’m just practicing patience! And I must confess.... I haven’t increased my water. I’ve always consumed 64 ozs. And I’m still right at that. I’m hoping that’s enough. I also have not been exercising like I should be. The upside to that is....if the SculpSure works, we’ll know it genuinely works and that the results don’t have anything to do with eating healthy, drinking water and exercising. I’m drinking the same amount of water, I’m eating as I always do (which is sort of a modified Paleo diet), but exercising lately has been a huge challenge for me. Mainly because of other personal committments and responsibilities that I always put before myself... Anyway, so I wanted to be honest. I know massage, water and exercise are really important, but at least I’m doing 2 out of 3 :) I’ll let you know how it goes on Friday after treatment #2. I will also say, that I think I may have an issue with some loose skin when I’m done with treatment. I knew going in that this wasn’t necessarily a skin tightening treatment although women have reported skin tightening. I’m getting older though so I may need a skin tightening treatment after I’ve reached my final result. I’ll talk to Stacey about that Friday! Hugs all! Xo!! Updated on 29 Aug 2018: Hey all - I pushed my second treatment off one week because of a stubborn fat nodule but it’s gong now so this Friday I’ll have my second treatment. Monday will be 6 weeks since my first treatment. I do indeed see a difference! My littl fat pooch is shrinking! It’s still there, but smaller than before my first treatment... and I’m not even 6 weeks post yet so I’m really excited that after another treatment and and another 6 weeks or so, I should really see some more progress! I talked with Stacey a little bit about the possibility of having loose skin after the treatments. She doens’t feel that will be an issue for me. If there is some loose skin though, I can do a skin tightening treatment (maybe SkinTyte or something similar) to help with that. We shall see! Overall I’m happy with the progress. I’ve also started BHRT again. I think once my hormones are in check, I’ll be able to take off those stubborn 7 pounds that I haven’t been able to lose. I’ve not changed my eating habits at all, but I have slacked off on exercising. I’ve just had zero energy and I’ve been tired because I’m not sleeping well. Nights sweats from the dreaded menopause have been awful! The BHRT will help with that though! Hope everyone is feeling great and happy with thier progress! Xo! Updated on 31 Aug 2018: Hey all! Had my second treatment today. Stacey had to finagle the straps to fit securely because.... I’m smaller now! LOL, so obviously it is working! I feel my changes are subtle but I’m only 5 weeks, 6 on Monday so I need to be patient! I have nodules again! They seem to pop up so quickly on me! This time I havpbe rather large ones on my planks on both sides. I didn’t have them there at all last time. I actually feel better having them ecause I really didn’t think it did much the first time to my planks. I also have one on my right side tummy again. So I will just masssage, massage, massage as I have been! That’s about it, for now anyway. I’m adding a few pics just because. No change... a little swollen and tender but that will fade in a afew days again... Updated on 1 Sep 2018: The swelling is down this morning but boy the nodules on my flanks are biggies! The one on my left is bruised! The size is hard to capture in photos. But you can see my bruise. I’m going to massage it with Arnica gel... other than that, any discomfort I had is completely gone! Updated on 15 Sep 2018: I’m 8 weeks post my first treatment and 2 weeks post my second treatment. I’m seeing a difference! Bottom is 2 weeks ago after my second treatment and the top is now. Some improvement over the past few weeks! Hope everyone else is progressing nicely! Updated on 8 Nov 2018: Just a quick update :) I wasn’t expecting ALL my stubborn fat to magically disappear and have a nice, smooth, flat tummy like I did before .... but.... I’m super happy with my results! I have way less fat and a much smaller pooch than I did before my first session! I am 10 weeks since my second session. I think the fat loss has slowed down. I have gotten lazy with massaging though. But overall I am super happy with my results and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for non-invasive procedure to reduce fat in the tummy area. Other ladies here have had good results with other areas too! When I go for my 12 week pics I will ask Stacey if she thinks I need a third session but I am happy with the result that I currently have. I just need to work on my motivation with regard to exercising more to further enhance the results! I’ve had zero energy lately! Hope everyone is doing well! Xo! Updated on 2 Dec 2018: It’s been almost a month since my last update. I’ve reached my final result and am still happy. It’s been 19 weeks since my first treatment! My jeans feel better around the tummy. Minimal muffin top! Anyone considering SculpSure should give it a try for sure! You have to be patient though.... I love that there was no down time, and no scars! Drink water, get a little exercise and massage the area and you will see results! (My mirror is so dirty! Sorry!)
