Several years ago I had laser hair removal on my genitals. Afterwards, I noticed that the skin on penis, scrotum, perineum and pubic bone area seemed darker. I can't be sure if the laser made my skin darker or if it was always like that...just now I'm noticing it because it's not covered with hair. I found an offer for Intimate Area Lightening on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I've posed photo's here of before starting and after my 4th treatment. I have one more treatment. The treatment scheduled about three weeks apart takes around 40 minutes and starts wih a cleaning. A bleaching product is applied and stays on for 20 minutes. You can add a green light emitting diod duing this time. Then the area is cleaned up and another skin lightening product is applied. Because of the professionalism of the staff, I never felt uncomfortable during the treament. I purchased a skin lightening ointment from the office and I apply it morning and night. It contains hydroquinone so I'm not apt to use it long-term but will until my last treatment. The ointment was about $90 and has lasted several weeks so far. I have noticed the area is lightened, but I wonder if it will return to normal when I stop using the ointment. If it does, I may try the PicoSure laser skin lightening that's offered at the same office or maybe I'll just let it be. Updated on 29 Jul 2022: So this actually worked as long as I applied the lightener daily and keep up with the treatments monthly. On the downside, I stopped applying the lightener and the treatments and my natural skin color came back in about a months time.
