The 80’s and 90’s I worshipped the sun, alcohol and tanning beds. It shows. I went to Renu Medispa in Eagle and I had Halo laser on my face, neck and chest. Easy to handle, minimal discomfort and I’m looking forward to having fresh skin. Here is the before pics and after. More to come- follow my progress! Updated on 25 Jan 2023: Day three- Shiny and happy! Although I look like a pumpkin head there is no discomfort at all. I was sent home with some products to keep the new skin moisturized and I’m following direction. If I have to go out for any reason I cover EVERYTHING with a sheer scarf folded in half and wrapped around my face with only my eyes showing and a hat. . :) Updated on 25 Jan 2023: It wouldn’t be a complete review if I didn’t include info about the Medispa where I had the treatment done. I’ve had peels and some other treatments over the years at some different places and this one is the best so far. It’s luxurious and relaxed- they definitely found the “sweet spot” of pamper meets Zen. When I said I was going to post my progress on Realself they offered me some pics of my procedure. This was impressive as they have no shame in their game and are happy to share pics of their work. Also, included in each individual bio of all treatment providers that work there is an in-depth peek into their professional background and expertise. I chose Tawny after reading her bio. Here are a couple pics of the procedure and a couple of the spa itself. Updated on 26 Jan 2023: Still red as a fire engine and starting to slough off some skin. I have zero pain and the skin is starting to feel tight. Also, I’m making sure I fully protect this skin investment if I have to venture outside. :) Updated on 29 Jan 2023: Three pics today on day 7. The first pic is a week ago, a few hours before my procedure. The second pic is this morning with no makeup, up close and personal. Still have some redness and still flaking but it’s less and less every day. In the last pic which was also taken this morning I’m standing on the same back porch at the same time and with the same light as my before picture and I’m wearing light makeup. Compare the last two pics to my before pic. Each day I’m a little more astounded!
I'm 40 years old and consider my skin to be pretty good. I wanted to get an early jump on fine lines and just get an overall pick me up. I have some redness that I have treated with v-beam in the past (love!) but no melasma and minimal sun damage. First off, this is intense! The lidocaine cream worked great but my body was super stressed getting the laser and I was shaking and sweating by the end. The burning lasted the rest of the day of my procedure but felt fine by day 2. It looked like a bad sunburn but wasn't painful. On day 3, my face started swelling and it lasted for two days. I looked pretty insane and would have had to take the day off work if I were going into the office. I did not experience a lot of peeling or MENDS (mostly around my jaw and neck). I did have a little bit of a breakout around my nose and chin. It took a week for me to feel like I was looking 100% back to normal. At first, I was a little disappointed with the results. I don't like the redness around my nose and this didn't really do anything for that, and while my skin was glowing, it didn't seem like enough payoff for the intensity of the procedure. I am now four weeks out and can definitely tell the difference! The lines around my eyes are nearly invisible and even the deep line near my chin from how I sleep is plumped up. My skin looks really healthy and glow-y and I think I look less tired and drab overall.
