I sought VBeam laser treatment for rosacea and clearly disclosed that my skin was actively inflamed and extremely sensitive at the time of consultation.
Despite this, the clinic proceeded with treatment immediately, without any stabilization or preparatory protocol. Afterward, I experienced significant swelling, burning, and a pustular facial flare, with no improvement in my rosacea.
Following my reaction, a nurse from the clinic later acknowledged that proceeding with laser treatment without proper skin preparation was not the right clinical decision.
Additional concerns included:
• The external cooling device typically used for skin protection was not applied because it was being used on another patient
• Skincare products were included in the package despite my warning of prior adverse reactions to the same brand
• I was told the products were a “new formula” and would be safe — I then experienced the same reaction
• After cancelling further sessions due to safety concerns, the clinic refused to refund the unused balance
I was also charged full tax for an entire treatment package upfront, which confirms it was sold as a package — yet later reclassified as a single session to justify keeping the payment.
This experience felt driven by sales rather than appropriate medical judgment. I would strongly advise patients with active rosacea or sensitive skin to proceed with caution and ensure full preparation protocols are followed. $1150 wasted
