I had 6 sessions of EmSculpt on my abdomen. The results showed up almost immediately, but I’m unsure if this was a combination of my new diet and workout plan or the actual EmSculpt. I will never know. What I do know is that results went away after a month or so. I’m still working out regularly and eating someone healthy but not as motivated as I was when doing the treatment and thus I don’t look that great anymore. The staff, however, was excellent. If I had to do this again, I simply wouldn’t. I’d keep my money for an abdominoplasty.
Dr. Khanna and his staff are friendly, professional, and results oriented. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the staff and other patients in the clinic looked like they had zero work done, everyone looked 100% natural. This was in contrast to 2 other clinics I had been to for consultations but never moved forward on for a treatment. During the initial consultation the doctor listened to my concerns without rushing, then gave me honest feedback (including discouraging me from getting a treatment he believed I did not need, which I appreciated). He then came up with a treatment plan based on my concerns: Botox for frown lines, a small amount of fillers to balance an asymmetry in my lips, and Laser Genesis plus Glow Peel treatments for acne scars. Over the past year I have had 3 Botox treatments and my frown lines are now completely gone. I never lost movement in my forehead, felt a heavy eyebrow, or had any other telltale signs of being Botoxed. I also had the filler and am happy with the natural results. The shape and border of my lip didn’t change, there was no excess protusion (duck lip), but enough volume was added to the right areas to balance my thin top lip with my large bottom lip. Nobody noticed I had any work done. Actually I didn’t notice much of a difference until the before and after photos 2 weeks later - I could see that my eyes no longer look angry and my lips looked balanced. For me that is a perfect result - a happier and more symmetrical looking face. I guess I got used to the change quickly since it appeared more natural than my original state :) I passed on the laser or peels for now, even though I trust they would make a good improvement to my skin, because I decided I want to see what a solid skincare routine will do for me first. I am really glad that the treatments were not pushed, just recommended because they addressed a concern I had regarding my light acne scars. Overall I’m very happy with my experience with Dr. Khanna and his team at Peau and would recommend to anyone seeking Botox or fillers with a natural look in a professional setting.
Let me start by saying in my experience there is always a ‘catch’ when it comes to anything plastic surgery or the promise of amazing results. I also unfortunately tend to be the type of person if something could possibly go wrong it does. Firstly, Peau in Montreal is amazing and has one of the best if not THE best dermatologists in town Dr. Khanna. The treatment provider Vanessa is also incredible and very warm and nice. The treatment itself was tolerable and the results it provided for my skin are really great. Smoothness, even skin texture, that ‘glow’- everything I was looking for. I noticed after about a week that my facial hair was growing in everywhere except my mustache. I thought maybe it was just slow because I always have a short beard and shaved it off for the treatment. It’s been two weeks now and I would say about 30% of my mustache has grown back. Like I said my skin looks great but I really am worried as I prefer myself with a beard and it’s like a thin 5 o’clock shadow and about my usual 2 days of growth. I don’t know if this will resolve itself over time but I searched the internet and 95% of places say ‘will not affect beard growth’ until suddenly I came across a doctor saying that it can cause permanent follicular loss, due to the swelling which damages the hair follicle, and the best solution is a hair transplant! There is very little literature that says this, but it’s been reported. I wish I would have known beforehand that this could be a possibility So, if you’re a guy and wear facial hair, take this into mind. Updated on 5 Feb 2021: I don’t know why maybe it was the swelling.. it’s been over 2 weeks and my facial hair is returning but definitely slowly..I was very scared that the hair on my upper lip would never return. I wasn’t prepared for this outcome but thank godwits coming back. I would say after 2 weeks it looks like my regular maybe 3 days of growth. My skin looks super great, the treatment made many improvements. I did read that some guys had patches of facial hair that didn’t return after fraxel restore but then I also read that fraxel does not affect hair growth whatsoever. This was my experience, I’m glad it is looking like it’s resolving.
I had done a lot of research on Emsculpt as I had heard about it in the States a few months back. I had asked the company to refer me to a clinic in Montreal but there was no one until recently. Dr. Khanna and his team are the first in Montreal to offer Emsculpt. The clinic is in downtown Montreal in a medical building near the Montreal General Hospital. The building is so-so but the clinic is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and Dr. Khanna is refreshingly honest and kind. I had four sessions of Emsculpt on my butt. The treatments were 2 or 3 days apart. Although the treatment is not painful, it was a little challenging the first time. It is hard to explain but the contractions are intense and really engage the muscles. The technician explained that the next session would be easier as my muscles grew in strength and it was true. I am very happy with what I saw in the before and after pictures but also what I notice in the mirror. I have more shape and my butt is more lifted. It’s pricy but worth it.
