I can not say enough great things about Sage Hallman. I met her as Dr.Shapiro's surgical nurse and we hit it off right away. She has the sweetest and most authentic personality. When she announced she was accepting patients for BOTOX I was so thrilled. I have been getting Botox for years, but working with Sage was the best experience yet. She truly takes the time to understand your goals and she's conservative to start, which I appreciate. I consider her a facial artist rather than just an injector. During my annual mammogram in April of 2017, the results had shown my breast implants of 30+years had ruptured. My physician referred me to Dr. Shapiro, whom he felt is the best Plastic Surgeon in Arizona. My husband voiced his concerns about my decision to replace my implants but understood that something had to be done. I made an appointment for a consultation to find out my options. Dr. Shapiro’s staff immediately made me feel very comfortable and at ease. After completing the initial paperwork, I was taken to his office for the consultation. When Dr. Shapiro entered the room and sat down next to me, I was impressed at how down to earth and easy to talk to he is. We first discussed my lifestyle, what I liked and disliked about my body and what kind of expectations I had regarding the surgery. He thoroughly explained how he would approach my particular procedure and suggested a breast lift for a more youthful look. After our discussion, I decided to move forward with the surgery. The surgery went well and my recovery took about 8 weeks. After the recovery period, I was back to my everyday routine and was even able to play golf. I couldn’t be happier with my results. And my husband loves my new perky breasts. I was so thrilled with my breast augmentation; I scheduled another consultation to discuss the possibility of a face-lift. For the last couple of years, I have felt my face had become tired looking and stressed. Over the years, my friends have all stated how young I look. They have trouble believing I am 68 years old, so I didn’t want to do anything that would dramatically change my appearance. My husband once again voiced his concerns. He tells me all the time how beautiful I am and that I didn’t need to change a thing. However, he supported my decision because it was important to me and he knows Dr. Shapiro does great work. For this consultation, the doctor asked me to bring in a photo of myself that I particularly liked showing me 15-20 years younger. The photo I chose was taken when I was 40 years old. As Dr. Shapiro looked at the photo, he immediately knew how he was going to re-contour my face by adding fat under my hollow eyes and adding additional fat to my lower cheek areas where I had lost fullness. He suggested tightening my neck, raising my brow slightly and removing the heavy lids over my eyes. My surgery was performed in October 2017, followed by an overnight stay at the surgical clinic. The surgical staff was highly professional and provided exceptional care. Dr. Shapiro visited the following day to remove my facial bandages and reassured me that I was going to love my end results. At first, it was hard to see past the swelling and bruising. One big concern I had, was the tickets we had purchased to see Cher in Las Vegas only 5 weeks post-op. I started questioning myself with “Did I do the right thing?” “Was I going to look O.K.”, “Maybe I should have planned better.” However, with each passing day, I could see the real me starting to emerge. I did attend the Cher concert and was told how beautiful I was by two young 20 something’s that sat behind me at the show! I am now a full 4 months post-op and once again I couldn’t be happier. Looking at my before and after photos, it’s an amazing transformation. The results are very natural looking and I feel I still look like me, just much more refreshed and youthful. My facelift has been undetectable by friends and family, as they ask me how I stay so young looking and “Did you do something different with your hair?” My husband also loves the new younger looking me and says he is very happy with my results. After both of my surgeries, I had several weekly and monthly follow up exams. The staff at Dr. Shapiro’s office; Leslie, Megan, Anne, Carol, and Sage, are outstanding. They were very understanding and caring when I needed someone to talk to and answer my questions or address my concerns. When I experienced two anxiety attacks, Anne was there to calm and reassure me. She was sincere with her advice that everything was fine and that my recovery was progressing nicely. She had no doubt that I would love my results. All of the staff and especially Dr. Shapiro were correct with their predictions … that I would love my results. And I DO! Dr. Shapiro is a brilliant artist, truly the Michelangelo of Plastic Surgeons. His vision and expertise bring​ the best to one's face or body with a natural look & without a single noticeable scar. For anyone thinking about cosmetic surgery of any kind, there is no one else I would recommend. Dr. Shapiro and his amazing staff are simply the best.
