I wanted to document my story because this site helped me SO much in finally making my decision to have a tummy tuck. I am so grateful for all of the reviews from everyone here that I thought if I could help one woman feel better about her body through reading my review, I have to tell my story too. For starters, I am 45 years old and have a daughter who is turning 25 this month. I gained 60lbs with her pregnancy and my stomach was just a mess afterwards - stretch marks and sagging. I was a young mother and never married, but once I met my husband 12 years ago, we tried to have children. I ended up having 3 miscarriages and gained a lot of weight with depression afterwards. After coming to grips with not being able to have more children, I began working on myself. I eat well and exercise and am at a healthy weight, but no matter what I do, my stomach is still a mess. I was tired of hiding it, I was tired of being ashamed of it, I was tired of always wondering whether my stomach looked big in outfits, I was tired of not feeling beautiful for my husband. So that brings me to now. Day 1 I had the procedure performed yesterday morning. The staff and Dr. R. at NuBody Concepts were wonderful. They were very patient with me and answered all of my questions. The day of the surgery, I was completely ready for it - I was nervous and excited at the same time. I don't remember falling asleep to the anesthesia but I remember waking up cold, shaking and crying. I was crying because I was grateful, and I was glad the surgery was over. They didn't need to put in drains (thank goodness) as I didn't bleed much and I am at a normal weight. So they sent me home in a compression garment and with medications. At first I felt ok. The doctor put pain medication inside my abdomen during the procedure. But once that wore off, I was in a bit of pain. I took my percocet as prescribed and tried to stay hydrated, but that just meant more trips to the bathroom. I am staying on our recliner sofa in the "man cave" which is across the house from the bathroom. I know it is good to get up and walk around, but I am finding it difficult as my abdomen feels like a car ran over it and my breasts are quite large so it is difficult to hold myself in the "little old lady" position. At one point yesterday I felt faint walking back from the bathroom and my husband had to hold me until I got back to the recliner where I actually did faint. He called my nurse (who is absolutely wonderful) and she said it is normal because my heart rate is down as a result of the anesthesia. It was scary nonetheless. I freaked my husband out too! Poor guy. But, all is ok. I can still hobble back and forth to the bathroom, I just take it a bit slower. So today is Day 2. I will document my day tomorrow, but I am feeling a bit better. The pain is the same, I am just getting a little more used to it. I keep telling myself that it will eventually get better and to keep the eventual outcome in mind. This pain won't last forever. Updated on 21 Aug 2020: I got through Day 1! It was a doozy. A lot of adjustments which is stressful. We had to move all of my necessary items (laptop, cell, medications, books, etc.) to our man cave where the recliner is located. It is a manual recliner so my husband has to come and lower the recliner each time I have to go to the bathroom. He also has to bring me all of my beverages and food (bless him!). I am very lucky that my friend brought a few pre-made meals to us prior to my surgery. I am usually the one who plans the meals and does all of the housework. So it is difficult for me to take a submissive position and ask for help. My husband is being amazing, though. I definitely could not have had this surgery without his help. Day 2 I had a follow-up meeting at my doctor's office. Having only traveled back and forth to the bathroom for a day, it was a lot of work walking out to the car and trying to hoist myself inside, which was painful. At the doctors, my nurse took off my compression garment to check that everything was ok. I was able to see the result in a mirror. I was very worried about my belly button as I have read stories of problems with some closing. But, all looked good, thank goodness! However, I became faint at the loss of compression and my nurse had to sit me down, wave alcohol swabs in front of my nose and got me a cold compress. It was quite difficult. I regained myself and made my way back out to the car. I was instructed on how to shower, but I don't think I am going to until after my next check-up appointment in a week. We have baby wipes which I have been cleaning myself with. I do not want to faint in our small, stand up shower. My husband is just going to have to put up with a smelly wife :) The rest of Day 2 went ok. It still feels like a car ran over my abdomen but that is to be expected. I also ate too many salty snacks which resulted in bloating. DO NOT EAT SALTY SNACKS! Big mistake. I was in pain by the end of the evening. My swelling is situating in my upper thighs and vaginal area. #SwellHell Day 3. Things are progressing along. I am getting used to the interior pain (where my muscles that have been sewn together) and have been starting to feel my incision spots. The exterior pain of the incision is much better to tolerate than the interior pain. A bit of itching is also happening under the progression garment as well. I am hoping I am starting to heal. I am able to get in and out of the recliner by myself now! SO HAPPY about that! So I don't have to bug my husband every time I have to pee. I haven't yet pooped, which is normal however a worry, so I started taking a stool softener after clearing it with my nurse. I don't want to be backed up and it lead to more discomfort in my compression garment. Hopefully I am able to go soon. So, lessons I have learned by Day 3: Try not to eat large portions or salty foods; ice down any inflammation that is not on my stomach; go slow; ask for help; take a probiotic to counteract the antibiotic so that I still have good bacteria in my gut; collagen, ALL the collagen for my skin (I put mine in a protein smoothie); let my pup sleep with me; sleep as much as possible; relax and let my body heal. Onto Day 4...(I hope I poop today!) Updated on 23 Aug 2020: Day 4 I am still in a lot of discomfort but able to get around on my own a bit better. The most difficult pain to deal with is interior just below my sternum. It feels like I have been stabbed. I have to loosen the compression garment sometimes to relieve the pressure. A lot of itches below the compression garment, but my skin is still numb. We were able to take off the garment today and take another look. I like what I see already! I cannot wait to be up and running like normal again. Day 5 Another day of hobbling around. I am bent over like a little old lady but slowly starting to stand up taller. I have a lot of back pain - probably from the way I walk and sleeping on a recliner. My back is quite bruised (along with the rest of my abdomen). I had a bit of interior belly button pain, but all other pain is bearable compared to the interior pain underneath my sternum. I am icing my outer thighs and vagina area as they are where the swelling is situating. #StillInSwellHell Day 6 Today is a bit better. We took a drive to Starbucks and all went well. I am also starting to space out my pain meds - I am still at 3/day but spacing them out 8 hours (instead of 6). Nighttime is the worst with pain. I am not sure if it is bloating from the food from the day or from hobbling around. I get really tired after hobbling around and spend a lot of time on the recliner. I am going to keep the results in my mind instead of getting depressed about not being able to be out of this recliner longer. I just cannot wait to be able to stand up straight and not have pain anymore. Oh and I showered today! I couldn't stand myself any longer. I became faint in the shower, though and had to drop to my knees. My husband helped me out and waved alcohol wipes under my nose until my color came back. But, hey, I have clean hair and a soaped up body. I feel like a new woman!! Updated on 26 Aug 2020: A lot of progression over the last few days, which is good. I had my 1 week follow up visit yesterday and all looks well! I am still very swollen in my hips and vaginal area. I have been icing that area, while apply heat on my lower back which seems to hurt from hobbling around bent over. But, it all seems to be progressing which is good! The pain is manageable with Tylenol. Although when I eat something salty, I tend to bloat more and everything seems more uncomfortable. I plan to attempt another shower tomorrow or Friday and will make sure to take a picture of my progression so I can post here. All in all, everything is progressing at day 8. I am more active each and every day and I can see myself getting back to normal in the next week or two. I am so glad that I had this procedure performed while I am working from home (due to covid), I don't know how I would have managed if I had to go into the office - I probably would've had to take a lot of PTO. So, my advice is that if you're currently working from home and have been contemplating getting a tummy tuck, I would suggest that you go for it. Pictures after my next shower, I promise! Updated on 27 Aug 2020: I had my husband take photos today. I am incredibly swollen and bruised but feeling more like myself every day. I have been trying to ice the swell (but it is everywhere!) and eat food with less sodium. I also have a special drink I make with sparkling water, apple cider vinegar, turmeric and pepper (tastes horrible but is good for inflammation). But I know the swelling will be incredible for a while longer. My compression garment keeps riding up which is annoying my incision line so I keep having to readjust it. My nurse said I had to wear the garment for 12 weeks and then I progress into something like a faja if I want. Progress today is that I showered and felt absolutely fine afterwards (no fainting!), I made lunch and am less tired throughout the day. I am also off of my pain meds and just taking Tylenol extra strength when needed. I am also more upright each and every day. Now, if I can just get my compression garment to stop riding up on me!
I was motivated to get the stomach gone because it was very depressing. I was going to try the traditional Lipo but I had to fly to Miami and Stay a week so I done my research and decided to consult about Aqualipo. I went to Nubody Concepts in Memphis and had the procedure done. I am 4 days post op and I can see results even with the swelling. I haven't had any pain but my stomach is kinda sensitive... Updated on 29 May 2016: I'm so satisfied
I am a 48 year old mother of 4 (31 to 20). I have always been in pretty good shape until about 35. Up until than I could exercise and keep a curvy size 6. Over the last decade I have been up and down between 140 and 170 (largest size a 12) BUT no longer look to be perfect. I have great genetics so most people think I'm 35 ish. I gave a great husband of 27 years that still looks at me like I'm the 20 year old he met so long ago. I can really say I really wanted this for me and my next best season! So I went in weighing 164 (I have not exercised for about 6 months) I am active but have not been hitting the gym my normal 4 times a week. Size 10 tight. Breast 38 C (I have a big back) when I weigh 10 lbs less I drop to a B cup easily and I am a small C now. I did my first consult at anybody concepts in Brentwood about two years ago after seeing the commercial everyday at the gym. The price was reasonable, I liked not having to go under and "going back to work" the next day. They quoted on special $5200 for upper and lower abs and breast fill. Being a mom and wife every time we had the money to do it I would tell myself there were better things to spend the money on But lately u have been feeling worse and worse about my belly and I just decided to go for it. I emailed Nubody to check on current specials and they honored the price from two years ago. I am moving to AZ and the top doc in the country for this procedure is there but charges about 3 times more (ouch) so I decided to try here. They squeezed me into a cancellation a week and 1/2 later which worked out well since I am driving cross country on the 24th. Procedure - they said it would be less than two hours start to from when I walked in to when I left and I arrived at 12:45 and was driving home by 2:45. The whole procedure was about an hour or less. I took antibiotics but no pain meds as I was driving myself. I have a pretty high pain tolerance ( I have dental fillings with a topical as I don't like a numb mouth :) ). Pain free - NO but it's like the dentist kind of pain. Real fast if they hit something. Shots the worst part. We talked most of the time and it was okay most of the time. When my breast were being filled I was thinking, what the heck did I do?? We were finally finished and gauze was placed on my belly and tiny bandaids on my breast. I was worried about scarring but there were three tiny dots on each boob and three on my belly. When I tried to dress the discharge started to leak out and they shoved one if those blue pads under the compression garment and said it should keep till I got home. That was the scariest part as two more times it poured out of the bottom incision (as it should) but after that it stopped and my gauze had tiny drops only. My stomach is sore but my breast are mostly sore and tender. It feels like when you need to nurse and your breast start to get hard. I had a hard time getting in and out of the garment because I am alone and have no help getting it latched but now that I can bend a little and my breast are not as sore I am getting it easier. I took a shower after 24 hours and no blood or discharge. Sleeping and getting in and out of bed difficult so I laid on the couch with pillows all around me. Yesterday I had to keep packing and was still able to clean out my fridge and kitchen cabinets as well as going up and down the stairs. Not easy since its hard to bend but not painful except the tender breast ( but they look really good :)!! It's easier to stand so that's what I have been doing. Slept better last night and had to remind myself this morning that it hasn't even been 48 hours yet since the procedure. That's pretty amazing! Still if I had to go back to work the next day and move quickly it would not have happened. I WOULD SAY if doing breast take a few days off. I need to finish packing and loading the car for my five day drive but I will update. My husband said no pics but I want to show the incision if I can.
I received 1500 grafts. This was a very affordable experience. The person that performed my procedure said she has been doing this or some form of this for 20 years. Her sister assisted her in this procedure. I initially felt slight concern as I realized they had brought her in specifically for me and the she traveled all over to do this at different locations. She eased some of my concerns as she talked about her experience and was able to sympathize with my nerves. I have my fingers crossed that it will work which makes all of this worth it. It is cheaper than most and seem to have less follow up and instructions than others from what I can tell through research. There were questions that I've had about others experience so I've been researching away. I had the procedure done on a Wed and the only call/followup I've gotten was on that Friday. I expected a follow up visit but there has been none. I was told that I could come there to sit under light as often as I needed but I don't understand if that is just an option or necessary for good results. I have a cap I bought a while ago that I can use that would provide the same thing so I opted out of driving there to sit under a lamp due to my trying to venture out as little as possible. I have had tons of itching and tiny bumps in the donor area over the last month. I emailed Nubody in hopes that they would want to see it and schedule a follow up. I was given instruction to either have someone help me pop the bumps or to try to do it myself. I'm too scared and so the other option was a warm towel which they told me. When I research the issue, I've found the exact same instructions and I've seen things where doctors say to not pop the bumps. I've been doing that so hopefully this issue will go away without popping bumps I'm a little over a month now and there is some growth in the donor area. Not a whole lot going on in the recipient area but I didnt expect anything this soon. I will try to keep you all updated off and on for the first year. When I emailed, Nubody didn't seem worried so I am trying not to worry about the itching and bumps either. Besides, when I take pics, the bumps do not show on pics. I will upload picts from what my concerns were before and then pics from day one to now. Updated on 7 Sep 2020: I have been trying not to stress since I had the FUE. I experience a lot of itching. I don't know if that is normal. I do not really see any fine hairs coming in the areas that I want to fill in but with African American hair, it just may be harder to tell. I am hopeful. I did have a follow up due to the bumps right after my initial review. It was not what I expected as it was with a doctor who wasn't who I was scheduled to meet. I think Covid just makes things weird these days. But the person I saw said there were no concerns. Eventually they went away. No one regularly checks on me. If my hair grows, I guess that is all I need. This was a huge investment when I look at what others paid to go outside the investment. In the US, it is considered very reasonable. If I did this again, I'd choose the cheaper route as long as references were good. I just expected more follow up by staying in my city and country. Oh well, more updates to come. Updated on 11 Mar 2021: I wasn't sure that this would work but I read so many reviews for this procedure that I had to try. I tried and 6700 later, it wasn't worth it. There was no real scalp consultation except pictures that I sent. Now I'm thinking that my scalp issues were just not a candidate for this. If you can, make sure you go somewhere where they are going to do a real consult and that there are follow ups. I have researched things that others were told to do that I was not. I am coming to terms that my hair will never grow back. I definitely will not do anymore procedures. Good luck with your journey. This is my last update.
Recently I had Aqualipo on the stomach and NaturalFill to the breast and face areas. I eat healthy and exercise daily by doing cardio and lifting weights. However, after having kids I had stubborn fat in the waist area that I was unable to get rid of with exercise and diet. Also, I have always been flat chested and implants were never an option for me. I don’t have a lot of fat as I am 135 lbs and 5’ 5” tall. I had a consult with a couple of doctors and decided on the doctor that performed the NaturalFill process. After much research it seemed the success rate was better with less re-absorption of the fat cells. I didn’t feel as comfortable with the doctor as some of my other consults. With my other consults, I talked with the doctors the entire visit and obtained a good feel for what results could be expected. With the NaturalFill doctor I spoke mostly with the office staff. During my short 15 minutes with the doctor I could tell he did not talk much with the patients after procedures. Also, when I asked about potential problems the staff acted like it was an odd question. However, because the office staff obviously worked more with the patients, the doctor performed more procedures in a day. I liked the fact the doctor was performing this procedure daily. Since he performed more procedures in a day his prices were the lowest. I spoke with the staff every couple of days, prior to my procedure, as questions came up. They were very nice, patient and answered all my questions. About 1 week prior to my procedure I started taking Arnica Montana which is a natural product to help with bruising. After the procedure I only had 1 small area, on my stomach, about the size of a quarter, with bruising. Just before the procedure I had Valium which helped me to relax but I was awake the entire time. The needle to numb the different areas stung. Once the doctor started the Aqualipo part it did not hurt at all. Injecting the fat into the breast area was painful but was over with quickly. Then he injected a small amount into my cheek areas. The doctor then handed me the mirror to see the results. I really liked it and asked for a little bit more. (This was agreed upon prior to the procedure to only do a very small amount in the cheek area.) He did one more injection then said it looked better and that was the end. I would have liked the mirror back again to see the results. However, being drugged up at the time, I didn’t think to say anything. Afterward I wished I had asked for the mirror and more injections. Your not really thinking very clearly when all drugged up. Afterwards I was bandaged up and left. As I was leaving the office I could feel my bandages start to leak thru to my clothes. Upon getting home I changed the bandages multiple times but they kept getting saturated and leaking onto my clothes. Finally I took some large maxi pads and taped them over the incision sights. This worked great since maxi pads have a plastic backing so they couldn’t leak thru. The first day I slept a lot. (I only used 1 pain pill, which was the evening after my procedure just before bed.) The next day I was just sore and my waist was very tender. On the second day I started using a compression garment which helped a lot. I was impressed that the doctor called the next day and asked how I was doing. They put 100 CC in each breast and I would say I almost doubled the size of my breast. I have always been small and wore a size A cup. I defiantly have more cleavage as the doctor added fat to the top part to fill out my chest along with increasing the overall size. Most of all I really like the NaturalFill to my cheeks. Now I just wish he had added more to fill out my cheeks some more. Whenever I look in the mirror I notice my cheeks most of all. I love how they look. No one else has said anything but I can really tell a difference. I think I look younger and I have cheek bones again. In a few years I will defiantly being going back to have more fat added to my face. Updated on 3 Apr 2013: This is an update to my Aqualipo and NaturalFill procedure. After about 3 months went back to the doctor because there was still alot of fat around my waistline. I am disappointed with the fat removal around the waist. I feel there is still alot of fat and it still looks like there is a tire around my waist. Still like the way my facial cheek bones look. Feel the fat that was transferred to my breast has dissipated even a couple of months after the procedure. They say after about 2 weeks what ever fat has not reabsorbed or dissipated will stay. However, I don't feel that is true as my breast have defiantly lost additional fullness. My biggest disappointment is my waist which still has a significant amount of fat. I fell that fat could have been used in the breast area for additional fullness.
Im going to start by saying that the staff was pleasant. I had fat grafting done to my breast, and would not recommend that anyone have this procedure done at this business. I had a consultation with the doctor, during which he advised that he shouls be able to get 200cc of usable fat transfered to each breast. I knew i didnt want to get implant and made that clear. For start, not enough anesthesia was used and i felt a stabbing pain as he was doing lipo. While the anesthesia(local) was being administered the nurse advised that she has ran out and asked the doctor if she should open another bag, he advised her not to.The doctor only put 130cc of bat in each breast, which is not what i paid for. During the consultation, i was told 200cc per breast.I reach out to the office to get a copy of my medical record, and i noticed that one of the staff named Andrea put that i was told that i would see any results from having his procedure. I never had any discussion with this lady about what my results would be, and only discussed this with th doctor while she was i the room. Im not sure why someone would pay thousands of dollar for cosmetic surgery if they were told would not result in any diffence. The doctors note in my chart mentioned the 200cc that he told me he would transfer. My inner thigh has an indentation that does not look natural from the lipo and my stomach looks worst than it did before i had the procedure dontThe fat was processed on a side table. It was emptied on a cotten pad and the staff used what appeared to be a piece of stick to smoother over the fat before putting it into different syringes. Im not sure if this killed the fat cells, but 3 months post op and all the fat is gone from my breast.I intend to file a complaint with the better business bureau as well as speak legal counsel for advise.
I have had about 20 treatments and my tattoo is still visible. I had to take a break for financial reasons, but I still have faith that this thing will disappear sooner than later. I actually have 10 tattoos and regret every one of them. I was fearless when I got them and could care less about what anyone thought. Well we all grow up one day and hate the decisions we have made. I went to 2 different places to have the done which were Nubody Concepts and Dermotolgy Realm. Needless to say both places sucked at removing them and I hope someone could recommend a new place in Memphis Tennessee that has had success at removing red and green colored tattoo?
Amazed that it was so simple and seeing great results at 3 weeks! Cant wait till another few months for the final result. Most pain was tenderness. That is all. Procedure was a piece of cake! I will get the before from the office! but on day 3 is pretty much my size. You do swell and im still a lil puffy. To be expected though. Updated on 5 Apr 2014: Looking better and better! I am so pleased with my results! The doctor said i was only at the half mark! He said i will continue to do better. I still have minor swelling. He said that is normal. He had me to get Biotin vitamin 5000 to 10,000 mcg per day. He said that is for hair skin and nails. he said it will help to improve tightening! You can get it at any vitamin store or even a supermarket that sell vitamins! Ask your Doctor if that can help you too!
