I am 73 and live in Florida and Vermont. My best friend who lives in Scottsdale had a facelift. When I saw her, I could not tell except that she looked refreshed and lines were gone from her neck and face. I was considering a facelift and have my hooded eyelids fixed, so she hooked me up with with Dr. Weiner as I live in Florida but wanted a real-time reference from someone whose opinion or experience I trusted. We did a Zoom call and he talked to me for an hour, gave his opinion, answered my questions, and was very professional and personable. I was going to be in Las Vegas for a wedding so scheduled the surgery in Scottsdale after that. Fortunately my best friends welcomed me to their home and signed on to take care of me during recovery. All the meds were purchased and I made a spreadsheet of when each one was to be taken. The day of surgery I was very calm. Dr. Weiner suggested dermabrasion at the last minute, as long as I was going to be under anesthesia, and I agreed. I do not remember anything, and my friends transported me to their home, put me in bed in the guest room, and began to care for me by the hour with water, meds, light food, bathroom trips, and lots of good-natured laughter. I looked like a mess! The next day they took me back to Dr.Weiner's office where he removed most of the bandages. He was pleased so far with the results and the pain was managed nicely with meds. I slept most of the time, had ice packs on my eyes, ate small meals, and easily recovered over the next few days. I was able to shower and get cleaned up, wash my hair and face and begin to see the new me, which didn't look wildly different, but just less wrinkled. Eight days later, I flew home to Florida with big sun glasses, a mask for Covid, and a warm jacket with collar turned up. Wheelchairs were scheduled at each stop so it was a seamless and comfortable trip. Once at home in Florida, I continued to recover, took less meds, and carefully returned to normal. The only thing that was a bit tricky was removal of the stitches since I didn't have a doctor in my town who was familiar with my procedure. My husband took me to the ER and a nurse practitioner carefully removed the stitches, and from then on I just used a topical cream to keep the incisions smooth. It has been 4 months since the procedure and I must say I'm so very glad I did this for myself. My family and friends have never asked me, "did you get a facelift?" They only say, "wow you look great, you must be having a good summer." I'm still a bit tight under my chin and the area in front of my ears remains numb but is beginning to have feeling again. My eyes look great. My skin is beautiful after the dermabrasion. I don't have a turkey neck any more. My profile looks much younger and fresher rather than that of "an old lady." Another comment is that my upper lip is still a little puffy, no doubt from the surgery, but nothing was done to my lip to make it this way. I notice it when I talk, or say any word beginning with "P," and sometimes it's hard to drink liquids without it dripping out of my mouth! A small annoyance but I've adjusted to it and know its getting better each day. I told the doctor's office and they said to give it a couple more months, use an ice pack if it lingers, and I'm just so happy with the total result that this is a very minor issue. I can highy recomment Dr. Weiner and Zoe, who runs their office. So nice, so concerned, so genuinely caring, and a great surgeon. I will visit them when I return to Scottsdale to visit my friends because they just made me feel so special, and so caring. Actually, on the day of my surgery, when my friend came to pick me up, she had a couple of emergencies of her own and needed help getting me into the house (I was still "out"), so Zoe followed her home in her own car and helped get me inside! Now's that a caring person who went above and beyond what was needed. When I heard about this, I was so impressed and just gratified with their care of me. OK, this is long, but it's a story and I'm happy to share it with anyone looking for a fantastic surgeon from a caring practice.
