i have now had about 8 of them over a span of 5 years and they have changed my life. i got hit with several food intolerances in 2013 and they often show up in my skin as acne breakouts whenever i get alittle cross contamination, im very sensitive to the smallest bit in my food. it also took me a bit to really find out what i was reacting to and by the end of it my skin was left with deep indentation scarring. sublative helped erase my scarring and fill out the indents aswell as even out any texture issues i had. i love how fast the results are...only about 4-5 days with scabs and after that they all rub/fall off in the shower and reveal fresh dewey glowing baby smooth skin underneath. i didn't think i could ever get rid of those scars, sublative is truly life changing. the staff at New image are great and they are the ones that introduced me to this laser and im so greatful. :) This laser has helped keep me looking younger than most people my own age. i am noticing that i seem to end up with permanent gridmarks on my face that are faint but shiny and others red...given what my skin looked like before i still think its worth it but its definitely something i do notice with any kind of gridmark laser. i am not sure if its from the Co2 (only had 1 treatment) or if its both in general that do this, because if it was CO2 that did this i would of thought the 2 sublatives i got after would have erased it? but it could be due to how deep it went.
i have done skin lasers before and i am quite fond of them. Theyve helped transform my skin. however...CO2 fractional laser is not worth it in my opinion. 1) i didnt know the downtime would take so long! i should have done research. it took me months to be able to have skin i could skip make up with. while it did its thing within a month i was left with bright red gridmarks for over 3 months ! i had to cover my face with make up. 2) i had raised gridmark bumps for about 1-2 months and this was scary i wasnt sure what happend or if it was going to stay but from what i researched online it sounded like an histamine reaction? i still dont know but that freaked me out! 3) i was left with permanent gridmark scars everywhere...i have since gotten 2 sublatives since then and i dont know if those are leaving me with gridmarks too or if its just because the gridmarks i got from the fractional laser are so deep its not fully removing them. my under chin developed dark hyperpigmentation where the gridmarks were i had to go in with the sublative to break that up. it wasnt until i got that fractional laser that i even noticed gridmark scaring..and since then i still see it and its been 4 years! i will probably never get it again, i could have gotten similar results with sublative over time and far quicker downtime. i have since been doing over the counter acids and like i said still to this day i have those gridmarks even after 2 sublatives. i do love skin lasers and how they leave your skin all dewey and fresh but personally i didnt like this one it was a scary 3 months for me i just found it too invasive. i did this laser in 2017 in the summer btw these reviews only go as far as 2019 so i had to choose the latest date listed but i actually had it done much before then.
After contacting New Image I was scheduled for a consultation within the week. There were other clinics I contacted that didn't get back as fast so it was great customer service from the start. In my consult, I discussed wanting my lower and upper abdomen and flanks (right/left). This was scheduled within the week. All my questions were answered and they were very friendly and helpful. I’ve never had anything like this done before so I didn’t know what to expect. I paid for 10 treatments- 4 areas to be treated twice plus 2 additional that I will use depending on my results. I decided to do all 4 areas in one appointment (25 mins each area) so this was about 2 hours. I heard a lot about this being "pain free" and I guess that depends on your tolerance and area being treated. My brochure stated “tingling” and that is often well tolerated. I would say it was bearable. I set a timer on my phone so I knew how long to brace myself. I would liken my experience to the burn you feel when you are working out. If you did sit ups for 25 mins the area would feel fatigued. I found that my right flank was a lot more sensitive than my left. I had to remove 1 of the 4 pads (perhaps placement was too close to my hip bone?). For that one area I could not tolerate the sensation. This was not a problem on left side or on areas where the other pads were placed. I was almost expecting to feel nothing or maybe some heat which is not what I got. I don’t want this to be a deterrent for people considering this treatment as 25 mins goes by and then you are done. You also would not need to sit through more than maybe 2-3 treatments depending on your body. My treatment provider was great at helping me through it and whenever I'm at the clinic for appointments I'm asked how I am. I’m curious to see how my body reacts at the next treatment as perhaps I will adjust better. I had Venus treatment on my thighs and comparatively from my first treatment to now there is a huge different. I was in pain the first time and now it feels like a hot stone massage. I may post pictures after my last treatment, I usually don’t post body pictures online- but I want to see how things go. For my upper/lower abdomen area, I can absolutely see a difference which makes me so excited for my second round. Ultimately, I would say having this 25 minutes of being uncomfortable was worth it. I had some redness and as time goes by you will feel nodules in the treated area. These made me feel a bit sore especially by my rib cage. I would stress how important it is to drink lots of water and massage the area. I would say I was nervous to massage as I was a bit sore but after finally addressing this the soreness went away almost instantly. It really does feel like you did 1000 sit ups. I'm looking to book my second round in the next few weeks. I will likely schedule 2 areas per appointment. For me, I think it would be less stressful on my body to break up the treatments and I find that I get a bit antsy sitting through appointments. This is one of those services in which people will vary with how they want to arrange it and pain tolerance. I’ve read reviews where tolerance varied just as results may too. This treatment is perfect for stubborn areas. My consultation was helpful in determining if this treatment would be a good fit for me based on my body type and what I wanted to achieve. It’s important to also be realistic about what your results could be and giving your body time to process the treatment. It is not instant and will not make you go from obese to supermodel.
