I have an autoimmune disease and had a lump in one of my breasts. Dr. Mayberry could have looked past those things and continued on. However, he wouldn’t let us move forward until I had an ultrasound to confirm the lump was benign, and had me receive clearance from my primary doctor concerning my autoimmune disease. For me personally, the whole process and especially the surgery day had me so uneasy. Mayberry and his staff were so supportive and helped to ease my nerves so much. At the beginning of the process it was challenging to get through to someone over the phone. I think they were short staffed with being in the middle of the pandemic. After about a month or so the response improved leaps and bounds. Now anytime of the business day nine times out of ten I will get through to someone right away. My husband and I are so happy with the results. For me personally I feel like my body looks more proportional, which gives me a more positive outlook on my body. I have already recommended him to my friends and family. They are impressed with my results as well. (: Mayberry really takes everyone’s anatomy in account and works with the advantages and disadvantages present. I really like how he communicates everything he is seeing and finding so you’re kept in the loop and understanding the process and why he is making the decisions he is.
Since puberty i would sweat through all my shirts, sweaters, and thick jackets that had sleeves. I could only wear black tank tops, or else risk sweating through anything else i was wearing. I finally found an answer to my problems, miraDry! I went to Mayberry Plastic Surgery with Nurse practitioner Gloria S. in Albuquerque NM. The cost was around $2,000 for 1 treatment. I had the level 5. Free consultation. The procedure was not bad at all. After the procedure: It was painful about a 6.5 out of 10. But mostly it was just a gross feeling of something foreign being in your body. My armpits swelled a lot. be prepared. do not plan to do much of anything with your upper arms the next 2 days. (ex. going on a hike like i did). You will feel like you have literally a softball underneath each armpit. It was very uncomfortable. I could not put my arms down on each side for a few days. They healed nicely however, they just took time to heal. The first week you will notice the healing process. The healing process, aftercare was hard. It was not excruciating pain but it is extremely uncomfortable. by 1 month it was almost completely healed. Is it worth it? YES! I would definitely do it again. I would recommend a level 5. use frozen water bottles to ice them. Not only has it stopped me from sweating excessively, but it has limited my armpit body odor a lot, and i also had very hairy armpits but a side effect from miradry is it decreases hair growth as well. About 50% of my hair in my armpits is gone as well! So not only does it help with sweating but as laser hair removal as well! Pros: I can wear any colored t shirts in 90 degree weather!! decreased BO! 50% hair gone! I wish I had done it sooner!! It is expensive. It does suck healing. not really extreme pain but just feels like foreign object is under your skin. it is worth it if your sweating has quite an effect on you life. I would do it again.
I was sure I wanted this procedure, I wanted to make sure that there had been others that were happy with the outcome, and with their decision to have this particular type of surgery. Firstly, I found that it is imperative that you have a board certified surgeon that you feel comfortable with and has the qualifications to perform this type of surgery. Dr. Mayberry, at Mayberry Plastic Surgery, fit all the criteria. He was not only highly qualified, but he and his staff were very good at answering all my questions, took very good care of me before, during, and after the procedure. I had a particularly difficult case. I was 54 years of age and did not have a lot of fat to harvest. I weighed only 118lbs at the time of my surgery and had lost most of the volume in my buttocks, not to mention they were the least likely to get good results, as they were also square. So needless to say I went in with realistic expectations, and was completely surprised at how much volume Dr. Mayberry was able to achieve! He harvested fat from my belly, waist, a little from my thighs, and my flanks. That alone would have made my shape more appealing, but what he was able to do to reshape my buttocks, was amazing!!! I will be honest as well about the recovery period. It was a long six weeks. I was unable to sit for most of that time. The last week I was able to sit with a pillow under my thighs, but I was very careful not to sit so that the grafted fat would live. And live it did!!! I could not be happier with my results. I am shocked at what a great result I got from his expertise. He really worked a miracle, because of what he had to work with. I have lost weight recently due to an illness. I have lost some of the volume, but not like when I would lose weight before. I still have a nice shape and no one tells me "How skinny I am" like they did before, (which I used to hate!) I can wear clothes now that I would have never been able to wear before. I look better in dresses and skirts as well. I will never go anywhere else for any of my plastic surgery needs. I have had filler, and Botox as well, and I have never been anything but thrilled with the outcome of any procedure done by Dr. Mayberry. I recommend that whomever you go see for a consultation for this procedure, that you do not overlook the precision and amazing artistry of this amazing Dr.!!!!! All the best to you all! Updated on 21 Sep 2016: I am writing this as an update to my initial review an a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure that I had done. It has been well over a year, so I thought it would be helpful to let you know how I am doing. I am not a young woman, and my skin is not what it used to be, yet I retained almost all of the fat that was harvested, which makes me look much better in my clothes than I did before the procedure! For that I am grateful!! I am glad that I had it done when I did, and would have done it at an earlier age if it would have been available. So for those of you who are thinking of having this procedure done, do your research, and find a Dr. who is a board certified plastic surgeon! Dr. Mayberry cares about his patients and is very honest. It is imperative that you understand that it is not an exact science, and that your expectations are realistic. I have always appreciated his honesty. He is very good at what he does, and I would never go to anyone else. He is professional, kind and a very skilled plastic surgeon. Thank you Mayberry Plastic Surgery, for all that you do, and the care you take with your patient's! And thank YOU, Dr. Mayberry!!!
