I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty with Dr. Marotta, and my nose looks and feels incredible. He fixed the bump, and my breathing has significantly improved. The tip of my nose looks amazing. The entire staff, including Dr. Marotta, was so nice throughout the whole process. I highly recommend him for the fantastic work and the caring team.

Only two months later, this car is so much less visible

After having an accident that left a terrible laceration on my face, Dr. Marotta was able to redo the stitches, and now, only two months later, this scar is so much less visible! Dr. Marotta was able to fit me in quickly and thanks to his experience and attention. What could’ve been a very bad scar above. My eye is now manageable with just a little bit of make up. Very grateful for his services.

Q: Would a lower blepharoplasty help my bags? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. MarottaOctober 2, 2023

A: Yes you are a good candidate for lower blepharoplasty. The technique I would use in your case would be transconjunctival (hidden incision) with lower lid fat repositioning or fat grafting.

Q: Rhinoplasty for a round nose?
Answered by Dr. MarottaSeptember 28, 2023

A: You are a good candidate for rhinoplasty. The nasal tip can be narrowed and more defined with rhinoplasty. Your profile is very nice but you have a slight dorsal hump which can be reduced and make it look even better.

Q: Worried rhinoplasty could worsen the bulbous tip because I get keloid scarring, is it a good idea to get one?
Answered by Dr. MarottaSeptember 25, 2023

A: Surgical rhinoplasty is the only way to address a bulbous nasal tip. Tip-plasty alone can be done in cases like yours where there is no hump and the bridge is lower than the tip. Keloids are relatively rare in rhinoplasty surgery in rhinoplasty surgery. If you have pierced ears and no keloids you are not likely to keloid from the surgery. A bulbous tip can be addressed by reducing the tip cartlages, suture maneuvers, tip grafting, and thinning the nasal skin. Hope this helps :)

Q: 36 y/o female, my eyes feel heavy and dry! Will bleph help? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. MarottaSeptember 25, 2023

A: A few things come to mind when I look at your questions and photos. Upper blepharoplasty or eyelid lift gets rid of the redundant skin or "hooding" so if you do not want to get rid of your natural hooded shape I would be wary at 36. Upper blepharoplasty does not relieve eye dryness. In the photos, you appear to be squinting a bit which draws the brows down and creates more hooding. An in person exam would be important to determine if you are really a candidate and you can get what you are looking for....

Q: Are the terms preservation & ultrasonic rhinoplasty just marketing buzzwords?
Answered by Dr. MarottaMarch 9, 2023

A: I perform both dorsal preservation rhinoplasty using ultrasonic instruments and open structure rhinoplasty using standard rhinoplasty tools. As in any technique, the devil is in the details. One is not inherently better than the other. I am very careful in patient selection. Dorsal "preservation" can be as disruptive or more than standard techniques given you fracture the entire nasal complex and remove some of the dorsal supports to bring a hump down. The only thing preserved in some cases is the junction between the upper laterals and the dorsal septum. The key is the surgeon skill at performing rhinoplasty, their experience with any technique they are using, and appropriate patient selection. For example, a surgeon advertising ultrasonic rhinoplasty and dorsal preservation may be doing his 3rd case (given this technique is relatively new to most surgeons). I hope this information helps.
