I am very pleased to write this review recommending Dr. Hess of Hess Plastic Surgery. After visiting three doctors, Dr. Hess was by far the most conservative in procedure and cost for having my pannus removed. He explained what would actually work best for my body type; how his method would provide the best healing afterwards and prevent further surgeries. Dr. Hess was outstanding. I had my pannus removed and I feel WONDERFUL. Easiest surgery, very simple recovery for me which was exactly what he said would happen. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a healthy and SAFE plastic surgery experience. I feel as if I have my body back before having kids. I get many compliments at how great I look. I even exercise MORE because I feel so good. Dr. Hess, you are wonderful.
I just had a very unpleasant encounter with the administrative person answering the phone at this location. I need to have a small seroma drained again. I had my surgery elsewhere and, after almost a month under my original plastic surgeon's care, I came back home to Virginia. My surgery went well, but my original plastic surgeon had to drain some additional fluid from my abdomen before I left about a week after my drains were removed. He drained me over the course of several days. He told me I might need one or two additional drainage sessions once I got back home. I realized that I have a small area of fluid that has come back and I wanted to get it drained. I contacted this office. Instead of just NICELY saying, "I'm sorry we can't help you.", the woman on the phone dismissively said, "No plastic surgeon is going to help you with another surgeon's complication!" LOL...I couldn't believe it! Surgeons do revisions to other doctor's work all the time and THIS isn't even a revision! Clearly if a person has already had plastic surgery they are more inclined to do so in the future, why not build a relationship with the person in case they really do need a revision OR might want to have something else done? I can understand not wanting to take on another surgeon's problems but seromas are common and draining one is NOT a big deal (it takes all of 10 minutes) especially when you are going to be paid to do it. Also, refusing work should always be balanced with a good attitude when you are dealing with the public. You never know what a person's future needs will be or why the person decided to have surgery somewhere else in the first place! I wish I recorded the audio to that call. She was so incredibly dismissive. The doctor, in truth, may not be bad, however, if you have someone working for you who acts like this woman did, something is wrong. I hope someone in the office reads this and changes how the person answering the phones treats potential customers. If I have surgery in California, when I live on the east coast or internationally when I live in America, there has to be some point when I come home and asking a local plastic surgeon for assistance isn't an outrageous thing! I don't have a problem with someone who doesn't do a certain thing, but BE NICE ABOUT IT PLEASE! I had ONE surgery internationally. I had a prior plastic surgery that I did close to where I used to live. I am going to have an additional surgery that will also be local and I haven't decided on the surgeon yet. You never know the business you are turning away when you are rude or dismissive! FYI - As an additional note, my husband and I got right off the phone with this office and called Cosmetic Surgery Associates and had no problem making an appointment to have the small pocket of fluid drained!
