GROUPONS: Buyers Beware! - San Antonio, TX

The purpose of this review is to commend Dr. Kimberly Finder for her expertise and ablity to repair a Liquid Facelift procedure with which I was not happy. Also, I will discuss my personal experience with Groupons for Liquid Facelifts. Groupons place the consumer in the position of determining the amount of product needed to accomplish the desired result. This decision needs to be in the hands of professional doctors performing the procedure. Furthermore, highly skilled professionals, like doctors and injectable specialists devalue their skills by promoting their clinics and medical spas with Groupons. I ask you--would you buy a Groupon for anesthesia for a surgical procedure? It's an injection, too! I think not. Would you buy a Groupon for a tooth extraction or a root canal? I do not think so. Now, I ask you, why not? My answer is because it devalues the service and I wonder why a highly skilled professional would need to promote their business with a Groupon. Groupons are the Wal-mart of e-consumerism. They are great promotions for a restaurant, bowling alley or miniature golf because these services have little or no potential for harm to the consumer. Professional medical services, however, have an inherent risk factor and should not be offered on Groupons. My personal Groupon experience follows. In early August, my husband bought me a Groupon to a local medical spa for 50% off 1 vial each of Botox, Radiesse and Juvederm. He thought he was giving me something I REALLY wanted and the look on his face when I opened my envelope with the Groupon in it demonstrated that he felt a sense of accomplishment for having purchased this gift AND MAKING MY APPOINTMENT! Gotta love a man who follows through . . . It's true, I love my injectable enhancements but I had not used this medical spa before. I have always used Dr. Kimberly Finder and I have always been please with my results in her care. Regardless, I kept the appointment made by my husband and as expected was upsold to several more units of the injectables upon arrival, well knowing 1 vial of anything will not achieve the results that I desire. Note that the price after saving the 50% on the 3 vials and THE UPSELL WAS MORE THAN I USUALLY PAY Dr. Finder. I left the procedure, knowing something was missing but really I could not determine exactly what it was, after all, I'm not a dermatologist! I only knew that I did not look like I usually look immediately after I leave Dr. Finder's office. I hoped for the best and allowed these injectables to heal. After 8 weeks and not being able to stand it any longer, I made an appointment with Dr. Finder to investigate whether or not my Liquid Facelift could be fixed to achieve my desired effect. What I learned upon returning to Dr. Finder is that I did not receive enough of the injectable products. This was fortunate because as she further explained, Radiesse, the liquid cheek enhancement, can not be removed, so too little is far better than too much! Dr. Finder also filed the areas under my eyes that were hollowed and dark and around my temples. The fill around the temples created a beautiful, desirable oval facial shape. I left Dr. Finder's office feeling whole and my true self again! Thanks, Dr. Finder! The photo below is how I looked when I arrived at Dr. Finder's office after healing. The video is how I look now. I couldn't be happier with my results. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at Dr. Finder's Face Place are the best!
