Halo Laser

Halo (Mini) for Melasma

If you’ve read any of my other reviews you know that so far my quest has mostly been about softening/eliminating my acne scarring and overall anti-aging. As my review title indicates however, I now have melasma as well. I was surprised too when I heard the news. See I was actually going in for a BBL (Broad Band Light) consult, but after images were taken of my face that showed sun damage I was made aware of the fact that I suffer from melasma and three series of the mini Halo laser would help more than the BBL. I was numbed for 45 minutes so the procedure was relatively painless and quick; 15 minutes roughly. My face felt instantly hot though and for the first two hours the fan and thermal water spray were my best friends. As the day has gone on the heat has dissipated, but now the itchiness is setting in. Updated on 26 Oct 2019: Was able to was with mild cleanser this morning given to me by doctor. All pain is gone, but slight itchiness remains. Between this morning and this afternoon my skin has become more brown and dried out. Updated on 27 Oct 2019: My face is feeling pretty tight today. Given the look of it I imagine I’ll start to peel by later tonight or tomorrow. VERY excited to see my new skin. So far I think this will be worth it. I was also will start using brightening cream in a couple of days Updated on 28 Oct 2019: My face is pretty itchy at this point although it’s tolerable. I’ve reached the “coffee grinds” look stage of the process, but I have yet to start peeling. In the morning after I wash I am applying two to three layers of hydrating serum along with sunscreen until the evening when I wash again. Updated on 29 Oct 2019: Just when I thought the itch had reached its peak!!!! It.got.worse!! I find myself reaching to scratch what feels like constantly at this point and sadly I have not started peeling yet. Hoping this severe itch is a good sign that my peeling will begin soon Updated on 1 Nov 2019: In the places where the scabs have fallen off (my cheeks) I can definitely tell a difference. Still waiting on my nose and forehead to catch up. Very minor itching at this point. Started using the brightening cream last night.
