Coming from a family with a history of aggressive adult acne, I've always struggled to maintain clear skin. This past year, I completed five months of accutane, and while it left my skin mostly blemish-free, it caused a lot of dryness, dullness, and redness. I'm only 22 years old, but my skin looked old and haggard. On a daily basis, I would have to put on two layers of foundation and cake on the powder just to even out my splotchy tone and bring some life to my complexion. So I scheduled my Clear + Brilliant procedure. On the day of my treatment, I felt at ease because my Dr. Brilliant expert made sure that I went into the appointment full of knowledge. I knew exactly what to expect, and this eliminated my stress. The treatment room was really comfortable and super modern-looking. She began by applying a numbing cream to my face, which she let sit for 20 minutes. Usually numbing creams have a weird, strong scent, but this one was odorless which was a nice perk. After the numbing cream took effect, she wiped my face clean and began operating the laser. She told me that since it was my first Clear + Brilliant treatment, she would only do four passes over each section of my face on medium heat. The numbing cream worked so well that I honestly didn't feel the laser doing its work. At most, I felt a little heat, but nothing painful at all. I've had laser hair removal, and THAT was agonizing....but this laser gave me no problems, and I'm usually a big baby. Because we had time left over, the specialist asked if there were any other areas of discoloration that I wanted to target. I showed her the scar on my forearm that I've had for about 7 years. It's always bothered me because it's in such a visible location. She told me that she would be able to help me there, so I was excited! Once the treatment was over, she put a couple different skin care products on my face. Since perméa makes your skin more permeable, my face soaked up the serums so effectively. You get to choose the products that best fit your desired skin goals, so I chose ones that targeted moisture and eliminated redness. Then she placed a restorative sheet mask on my face, which felt really nice and cooling. She let me relax with that on for about 15 minutes, and that was it! There was some slight redness, but that went away pretty quickly. Straight after leaving Dr. Brilliant, I went to the movies with my family, and no one noticed any side effects from the laser. Over the next week, my skin began expelling debris and resurfacing, so it was rough for a little while. Just a week later, my skin felt smooth and much, much more even. I was told that the results will continue over the next few months, so I can't wait to see how much more my skin improves! I haven't been wearing makeup, and I've been getting a lot of compliments on my skin. Also, the scar on my arm is SO MUCH LIGHTER. I'm astonished. Dr. Brilliant is by far the best center I've been to when trying to improve my skin and adding a preventative and anti-aging maintenance to my routine. They use the newest and most advanced laser to treat called the Clear + Brilliant laser and it has done wonders for my skin. When I first came to the center I was welcomed with such vibrant nurses in a super modern facility not like any other I've seen before. The nurse who did my consult was very knowledgeable, explained the treatment thoroughly, and answered every single one of my questions even the odd ball ones. She asked me about my current regiments and what I was trying to improve about my face and from there she created a customized treatment plan for me where I learned that the Clear and Brilliant laser treatment would be best to target all that plus even more! (I'll get to what it does in a second). I'm a veteran when it comes to spas, skin institutes treatments and probably every product in the market so I've done everything from weekly facials, chemical peels, IPL, BBL and even as far as acupuncture but I always felt like my skin after all this was still somewhat dull, full of huge pore sizes and blotchy skin tones cause I always pick at my acne so I've over the years created dark spots and light scarring. Basically nothing I did seemed to work until I searched further and found Dr. Brilliant. I was astonished and to top it off that's not all that the Clear and Brilliant treatment does, it also helps with re-stimulating collagen, softens fine lines and wrinkles, removes age spots, sun spots and can also be treated on other areas which I will be going back for me (my back). They combine it with a variety of serums and antioxidants (only the best) customized to your needs that only make the results even better! I will definitely continue to make this my monthly skin treatment as I can't get enough of the results. I’ve recently decided to become the best version of myself possible. I’ve been focusing on improving my body by making healthy choices along with visting Dr. Freeze for CoolSculping. During a recent follow up appointment, the staf told me that they just launched a new “sister center” called “Dr. Brilliant,” specializing in the clear + brilliant laser. That got me thinking… taking care of my skin is important too! I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I have some brown spots and acne scars on my face, and honestly clear + brilliant sound like perfect solution to address my “problem areas.” I’ve done microdermabrasion and chemical peels in the past, but laser technology is sort of having this new moment, so I thought why not? I wanted to see how it compared to other skin treatments I have experienced in the past. On treatment day, my Dr. Brilliant provider asked me some questions about my biggest concerns and what I wanted to target. Based on my answers, she chose the permea laser because it was specially designed to reduce scarring and discoloration. The treatment took less than an hour. Afterwards, the specialist applied some skin care serums and lotions. She used some moisturizers to hydrate my skin, and she gave me a product for my wrinkles. They call this process “hyper brilliant,” where they use the laser to increase your skins permeability and then infuse it with medical-grade skin care products. This eliminates debris and leaves you with a fresh layer of skin. During the ensure thing, I felt really comfortable. They make you feel like family, like you’re at home. And during the treatment, my Dr. Brilliant specialist was talking to me, so I felt really relaxed and calm. There wasn’t really any pain, but I did feel a little tingling every time the laser went on, but that was about it. Compared to laser hair removal, it’s nothing. After I had the treatment, I went out to dinner and then went home and relaxed. There was no issue at all. In the days following, my skin got rough while all the toxins were coming out of my skin, but that ended within the week. There were no harsh consequences, in contrast to a chemical peel which causes your face to become super sensitive with lots of peeling and flaakiness. It’s been three weeks since my treatment, and I started noticing big improvements during week two. My dark spots are lightening up and disappearing. Now my face looks refreshed. The tone looks a lot healthier and it’s super soft as well. I’m planning on doing a series of clear + brilliant treatments in the future, and I definitely recommend it to anyone, of any age, who wants to improve their skin to glow again.
