I had Sofwave on lower face and neck about two months ago with Raenelle, and it was totally tolerable and I started to see some results within a couple of weeks. I'm really happy with the results so far, and expect to see at least a little more improvement over the next month. The skill of the provider is really crucial with this kind of treatment, so seek out someone with experience.
Though it is a tiny price to pay for two wonderful and healthy children, the journey to get my stomach/abs back to a place I feel confident in has been a long one! My abs were always one of my best assets but after two c-sections in my late thirties, things were very different. After my first daughter everything was fine but after my second I had moderate-severe diastasis (a little more than two fingers width apart) and an umbilical hernia. I figured eventually things would go back to normal with diet, exercise and some targeted core work. I worked out diligently and lost most of the fat off of my stomach but the “pooch” of my abs remained stretched out and just wouldn’t go down. Prior to babies I worked in the aesthetic field so I was familiar with all of the different devices and though some helped with skin texture/laxity nothing made my stomach or waistline come back “in”. I did physical therapy with a diastasis specialist for 10 weeks, met with two plastic surgeons about tummy tucks (which seemed way overkill for what I wanted to address), and finally met with a general surgeon who told me he couldn’t do much aside from repair the umbilical hernia and that I should just ‘accept my new body and embrace it’. We are our own worst critics, after all! I took his feedback into consideration and decided against surgery but I continued to struggle with the lack of core strength and the issues that caused. I love to workout and lift weights but nothing was the same after two c-sections. My abs were separated, yes, but they were also cut apart twice and if felt like my lower abdominals just weren’t awake. Without being able to fully brace my core I was wobbly and my body tried to compensate by transferring weight and force to my knees, hips and lower back which resulted in many sore nights and trips to PT and chiro. I had heard about Emsculpt years before but in August of 2021 heard from a friend that it really helped her get strong again in her core. I got the package with Dermatology Center of The Rockies-4 total, 1 every week and I cant say enough about what a HUGE difference it has made. I started out on a very low level for my first treatment—the abs near my incision weren’t even awake and the sensation of contractions for those lower muscles was very odd but by the end of the first treatment I could tell that things were “waking up”! By the second week we were able to go up quite a bit and I was a little sore afterwards—a great feeling. By the third treatment I felt very strong and after the fourth I noticed an extreme difference aesthetically but also strength wise. I was back to feeling strong!! The treatments do not hurt and there is no downtime. I brought a book to read and the team at Dermatology Center of the Rockies was very attentive during the treatment. I came back after 2 months for my follow up pictures and I am absolutely thrilled. What an incredible treatment to have that does so much aesthetically but also functionally.
I am a 45-year-old woman who decided to take the cosmetic dermatology plunge with Ultherapy yesterday! I have tried Botox and filler once and loved the result but found the cost of spending $500 - 1,000 every few months to maintain the look out of my budget. Because I was nervous about any kind of procedure that might cause an unnatural look or irreversible damage I opted for a Board Certified Dermatologist's office to provide expert advice and a safe, care plan tailored to addressing my concerns about my older looking appearance over the past 5 years. After some research I decided to book a consultation at Dermatology Center of the Rockies. The Spa, Cosmetic Dermatology staff spent a lot of time addressing my concerns, giving me their expert opinion (they saw areas for easy improvement that I didn't even think about!) and we came up with a plan that I feel really comfortable with that included the latest in skin tightening and lifting with ultrasound - Ultherapy. It is a more costly procedure in the short-term but after learning about that is available to look a little younger and fresher I went with Ultherapy because, for me it was short-term pain for much longer-term gain. Ultherapy, was the best option for rebooting my skin's natural collagen production and giving me the longer-term results I was looking for. It is more expensive up front, and takes longer because my body is doing the "heavy lifting" (I was told about 30 days to first really notice some changes with more results at about day 30 and more even more around 6 months) - BUT it is not something I will need to repeat for years! And I have other options that can be done in conjunction with my Ultherapy if I want to supplement "problem areas." I was also pretty nervous about what to expect but the Dermatology Center of the Rockies team - from start to finish - were very thorough (I think because it is an MD's office) and truthfully the procedure was uncomfortable at times but nothing (for me) as painful as some of the other reviews I have read. On my neck, each line felt like a warm to hot tiny electric beat underneath the skin. On my face that prickly, warm set of pulses became more intense near my jaw and cheek bones but lasted for just a few lines. Overall, I would have to say that it was not as painful (full disclosure Dr. Baird's office also gave me about 800 milligrams of Motrin when I first arrived) or as long and tedious as I thought it would be. The redness was gone almost immediately after the procedure (I am very fair skinned) and I finished going through the rest of the day with no discomfort. This morning, my face and neck are just a little tender to the touch but nothing noticeable and certainly not anything that has or will interfere with my day! My aestheticians (Sandy and Elena) took before photos that I will ask for copies of to post at a later date when I see noticeable changes. I was so happy with my overall experience and looking forward to seeing the results over the next 30+ days. My motivation in writing this review mostly comes from my relief at finding such a great place (Dermatology Center of the Rockies in Longmont, CO) with such a great staff (thank you to Dr. Baird, Elena, and Sandy) for helping me to feel OK about wanting to do something about looking (but not feeling) older and helping me to find the right procedures and treatment for me within MY comfort level for what I have wanted to change about my appearance but didn’t know how or even where to start!
It appears you have a venous lake although it is difficult to confirm this diagnosis by photo. I would recommend a consult with a dermatologist to confirm that it is truly a venous lake. If it is confirmed to be a venous lake lip filler can still be performed although more caution would be needed in this focal area to avoid bleeding and bruising. If the venous lake bothers you, I would suggest laser treatment which is usually very successful. I would recommend evaluation by a board certified dermatologist to assess the venous lake and discuss lip filler. Best wishes.
You should be able to receive your Botox treatment as planned. There is no known contraindication for receiving Botox treatment following a shingles and flu vaccine. Best wishes.
Weight loss will likely slim your overall facial appearance however it will not specifically slim the masseter muscle. Masseter muscle hypertrophy is caused by clenching or grinding of the teeth. Over time the muscle thickens as a result of this chronic muscle contraction. Botox can be very effective in lessening this muscle contraction which thins the muscle and creates a slimmer, more contoured jawline. I also recommend my patients consult a dentist for a nightguard since many patients clench their teeth at night. Please consult a board certified dermatologist experienced in the treatment of masseter muscle hypertrophy. Best wishes.
It does appear that the bumps you see and feel are related to superficial placement of filler. I would recommend consulting an experienced injector to have the bumps of filler dissolved with hyaluronidase before getting more filler in the lips. These type of bumps can happen after filler and are very easy to treat by an experienced injector. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for an evaluation. Best wishes.
