A Swelling of the lips after injection is very common and generally peaks the day after the injection. Some patients will have more swelling then others. Give yourself a bit more time to allow the swelling to subside. Gently apply cool compresses or ice packs to the lips. Do not press firmly with the ice packs and be sure you have a paper towel or thin washcloth around the ice pack while holding on the lips. Ice works best for swelling or discomfort when held in place for 5-15 minutes at a time. Tenderness is also common and should resolve. If pain/tenderness or warmth persists or gets worse or you develop new symptoms (like a fever), consult your injector.
