Chin Liposuction may be done before the weight loss however it is generally best to wait until your weight is stable after any loss before proceeding with the operation. Under those circumstances less fat may need to be removed and that will give an overall more predictable final positive result. In the event that the weight loss is less than desired or if there are other reasons to proceed before the weight loss it is important that the quality of the neck skin be accurately assessed to determine if it is reasonable to proceed before weight loss. If the skin elasticity is normal and good the procedure may be performed before or after the weight loss. If there is poor skintone of the neck then it would be absolutely best to wait until the final weight loss and stable weight has occurred. Performing liposuction on a neck with loose skin or poor skin quality will usually exaggerate this laxity after the final healing has occurred. If a person has moderate laxity of the neck skin then it can often be satisfactorily tightened with a noninvasive procedure, Ultherapy which in some circumstances would be best performed immediately prior to the liposculpture procedure and again afterwards.
Depending on how much liposuction will be done on the flank and hip (so called "muffin top" areas) there will not be much change to the stretch marks usually. Some narrowing and deepening of the stretch marks may occur if there is a substantial amount of fat removal in these areas, but may not be avoidable in order to have the best reshaping result.
Stretch marks are actually a form of scarring and some of our Tumescent Liposculpture patients do wish to have the stretch marks look less noticeable as well.
We have several laser based treatment options to improve stretch marks whether they are new or have been present for years.
In general, it's always a good idea to be at one's ideal body weight or at least have a stable weight before liposuction. For weight loss "resistant" areas like the inner/outer thighs and knees a small amount of weight loss before or after liposuction will not usually affect the final liposuction results.
