Dr. Nuveen Review

Went in for a breast lift and came out with extra side skin that drags down underneath my armpit. Dr. Nuveen has a big ego and thinks his work is great, but I am still trying to find another doctor to fix what he did. The staff is good. The doctor I had my consult with, Dr. Caplin, was scheduled to do the surgery, but unexpectedly had to go out of town. She turned me over to him. During my follow-up visits, I explained my concerns and he told me what great work he did and how wonderful it looked. He consistently told me to give it time. Months later-same thing. Year later- same thing. No change and the sagging skin is still there. Other doctors I have consulted have said they suggest I get "the previous doctor" to fix it. I will not trust him again.

Terrible results from my Initial surgery

My experience with this facility has been traumatizing. My surgery was scheduled with Dr Nuveen, so of course that's who I assumed would be preforming my surgery. I was wrong. What ever doctor is working for Dr Nuveen in his fellowship program at the time, is who preforms most of the surgery. For me, it was Dr Sistare. These doctors in the fellowship program are not board certified plastic surgeons and have ZERO experience in plastic surgery. Absolutely no experience! The patient is literally their Guinea pig and the horrific results prove that. Had I known this I NEVER would have agreed to surgery here. The fact that legally, they do not have to verbally inform you of this prior to surgery is disturbing. After my terrible results from my Initial surgery, I was gaslit into believing my results were a mystery and it's just how my body healed. I was so desperate to have it fixed I continued allowing what I thought was Dr Nuveen, perform revision surgery after revision surgery, at which I had to pay for! Of course as he said, at a "discounted price". My initial 7k surgery quickly turned into 30k+. After so many revisions I started to question things. Turns out, Dr Nuveen was allowing Dr Sistare to perform my surgeries. I have been gaslit and taken advantage of in a vulnerable state and it's disgusting. My body can never be restored to pre operative condition, it is permanently damaged. Nor will any amount of revision surgery make it look acceptable. That's not the worst part. The negligence of the surgical staff almost cost me my life. I ended up in the ICU needing a blood transfusion 4 weeks post surgery. I should have been advised to go to the ER immediately after so much blood loss but I wasn’t. When I stated I lost a lot of blood, I was again gaslit and told “I’m sure it seemed like you lost a lot of blood” but you’re okay. And I was sent home where I laid in bed for a month, lethargic, not being able to do simple daily tasks like showering. Afterwards I asked the staff at cosmetic surgery affiliates for those specific medical records and they informed me they could not supply me with them because they did not exist. Their negligence almost cost me my life and they didn't make any record of it! It’s either a cover up or incompetence, either way, I almost paid for it with my life. This blood transfusion cost me an additional almost 20k. Now i am out over 50k from an in 7k surgery and my body is still absolutely ruined. I will say the nurses that see you at your follow up are very nice and treat you well. In the beginning the front office staff was polite and professional. But after having to go in so many times for so many revisions they started to treat me like I was a bother. Smirking when I would walk in. Leaving me standing for 30 plus minutes post surgery in pain, never once asking if I was okay. They made it extremely uncomfortable for me to want to go in for any of my appointments. No one should be made to feel this way. Please do your research before getting surgery. It could literally be the difference in life and death.

Breast Lift with Implants

Impersonal & Self Serving

I should have gone with my gut instinct when I first went in for a consult. Red flags were raised when I was told you don’t meet with the surgeon until the day of surgery. My consult was with a NP who informed me I would have to have my hormone pellet implant removed before surgery, which isn’t even possible. I told them exactly what I wanted done, yet woke up post surgery to a size much larger than I wanted or asked for. When I arrived for my check up, I was told by the surgeon who owns the center that he couldn’t help if I “changed my mind” after the fact…my medical records clearly recorded my initial request to be a size C and woke up to DD’s. This surgeon who owns the facility was arrogant and rude and clearly out to cover himself legally rather than truly listen to his patients needs and concerns. After this incident I looked him up and found many pending medical malpractice lawsuits against him. Something I wish I had done before I proceeded with this surgery center. The office is chaotic, always some sort of Botox party going on. Since this incident I have had two past employees tell me they quit due to the unethical behaviors and questionable practices at this surgery center. If I could offer one piece of advice retrospectively it is to not let the initial money you think you are going to save influence your decision to have your procedure done here. You will spend more having their mistakes corrected somewhere else and the way you are treated, especially by the lead surgeon is inexcusable.
