Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England started out in 1988 as a Medical Laser practice that offered treatments for Port Wine Stains and Tattoo removal. It has since grown into Maine’s largest and most highly respected medical aesthetic laser and treatment facility.
There's few med facilities run as professional, knowledgeable and compassionate as CEC. My children have had stellar care with a variety of treatments targeting acne, and I have had numerous, cutting edge procedures with 100% satisfaction. Every single provider there is committed to professional development, and takes pride in the outcome of their services provided. Vanessa is amazing with teens, Carolee is your person for sculpting and Dr. A is continually seeking opportunities for new, innovative procedures for her patients.
I had 5 treatments (2 to each other thigh & 1 to my upper inner thigh) with poor results. I was very happy with Carollee, however, the equipment used to treat the thighs is poorly designed & difficult to apply resulting in uneven, minimal results. I would NOT recommend this procedure for thighs until the equipment is improved!
Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. I did a lip filler and was so nervous going in but it was a breeze. Ashley made me feel very comfortable and it was done before I even knew it. Ashley was able to answer all my questions and concerns. I will be going back.
I am a 33 year-old mother, fair complexion, exercise 4x/wk. I've been bummed to see that my face has aged a ton since having my sons and then losing the baby weight. I recently had some professional photos done and was aghast at the crowsfeet on my face! I've always felt proud of my looks, and I'm not ready to give that up. A friend recommended Dr. Maria Atkins at Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England in Portland, Maine for Botox injections. I received 40 units. The injections hurt a little bit, but not more than expected and were less painful than electrolysis. I am now at Day 5, and although I know I can't expect full results until 2-3 weeks out, I'm happy with the changes already! I keep seeing myself in the mirror and thinking how refreshed I look. Goodbye crowsfeet! The day of the injections, I had a mild headache afterward. The injections sites were not visible. It feels now (Day 5) like I have tape on my forehead. I don't know if that sensation will go away or if that's just what the muscles feel like in their new relaxed state. I tend to notice things in my body more than most people. I'm hooked!
I have always been self-conscious about the far on my chest since I was a teenager. Pretty much all my exes have commented on it, not like I wasn't already aware. Saw the commercial, went into the Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England which was the only place willing to do Coolsculpting in the chest area out of the five practices with machines in my state. I was told I was a good candidate for Coolsculpting by Dr Maria Atkins. After the first round with the mini handpiece, I saw basically zero results. I was told perhaps the mini handpiece wasn't targeting the area correctly, so I waited until the petite handpiece came out. When it did, I went back in, and had another round, and it just confirmed my fears that it was total waste of money. Pain was the worst I've experienced since I tore my MCL 12 years ago, about 10 minutes of hell during/post massage. I had this done almost a year ago, so I know my results are final. I only showed one picture because it didn't change at all. Updated on 9 Nov 2017: Forgot to mention that Maria did the second round on me for free. Maria suggested Kybella for the free treatment I was promised if coolsculpting didn't work. I couldn't find any info online ANYWHERE about people having the Kybella treatment done in that area, so I opted for coolsculpting again for round 2. I didn't want to be the guinea pig for that.
The number of Botox units really depends on the patient, I can inject anywhere from 10-70 units in the platysmal band area. If you’re not having results, you may also want to consider adding a skin tightening treatment, such as Ultherapy or Profound, as it may not solely be a muscular issue. At my practice, we have great results doing a combination of the two, if needed.
At our practice, we have several different treatment options for under eye hollowness, ranging from dermal fillers, laser treatments and more.
I would first recommend a series of Pelleve radiofrequency treatments to build collagen and reduce fines lines in the delicate under eye area. PRP injections would also be a good option. PRP is a form of cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the client’s own platelet rich plasma. The plasma contains cytokines and growth factors. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin production.
For a more aggressive treatment plan, I would recommend the TotalFX CO2 laser. This laser is highly effective in resurfacing the skin and building collagen in the treated area. TotalFX can help with under eye darkness, texture, wrinkles.
Yes! Botox can help with droopy eyelids. It should only take about 15 to 20 minutes to improve the droopy lids. Botox pricing can range anywhere from $10-$17 Per unit. Be wary of heavily discounted Botox pricing. You may be seeing an inexperienced practitioner.
Hi wik9248. No, absolutely not. The CoolSculpting device only treats the superficial fat layer. In other words, it will not affect the muscle or underneath the muscle in the abdomen which is where your uterus is located and your IUD is placed.
Hi Nicole. We generally suggest that a patient waits at least 6 months after a surgery on the abdomen to do CoolSculpting. However, you may want to wait even longer if you are seeing a provider that is using an older hand piece, as those can take up to an hour for a treatment. The older hand pieces have a lot more tug and pull on the tissues. The newer hand pieces – the Cool Advantage series - do not pull on the tissue like the old ones did. They have less discomfort as well. In that case, if the physician is using older hand pieces, you may want to wait a year.
