I recently underwent a PDO threadlift for my lower face performed by Dr. Kane and I am very pleased with the experience. I am Asian American and I was interested in lifting my lower face to achieve a more symetrical and defined face shape. Not only was Dr. Kane able to achieve this, but he also defined my cheekbones and help fill in the hollowness underneath my eyes. Lauri made everything so easy and I felt very taken care of through each step of the process. I highly recommend the Center for Cosmetic Surgery & Medi-Spa and will continue to go there for all my aesthetic needs.
I had a exfoliating facial with Kelly to brighten my skin. The facial was so relaxing and when we were done I couldn’t get over how beautiful and radiant my skin looked! I loved how soft and hydrated it looked. I can’t wait for my next one ! I highly recommend the center for cosmetic surgery and medspa/Dr. Dean Kane. This photo was taken about 15 minutes after my facial. #happiness
I started growing unwanted facial hair in late adolescence. The issues got worse when I reached mid-twenties. The dark spots, which was as a result of thick hair growth, could be seen (even with expensive concealer!). I knew that something had to be done because this issue was ruining my life, especially as a 30-year-old African-American female that has to interact with people on a continuous basis. I would get strange stares from people frequently because of the facial hair and terrible scarring. My laser hair removal journey originally started in 2008, while at American Laser Center (has since been closed due to various complaints). The results at this specific facility was less than desirable. In fact, the laser used to treat my skin made my face burn to the point that I needed to take time away from work and school to recover. I later learned the laser used was not compatible for African American skin tones, which resulted in major skin burns and discoloration. So, why trust another treatment center? I was very apprehensive about starting over because of the aforementioned experience. However, I decided that I should do further research and venture out of my small town. This was when I found The Center for Cosmetic Surgery & MediSpa located at 1 Reservoir Circle in Baltimore, MD, back in February of 2015. Drs. Dean and Lauri Kane have greatly impacted my life. Their staff are honest, very professional, and caring people. I have never felt so comfortable receiving laser treatment prior to visiting this wonderful medical practice. After my first phone conversation with someone from the medical team, I knew this was the place for me. Not only does The Center for Cosmetic Surgery & MediSpa specialize in laser hair removal, they have the best lasers to treat African-American skin tones. I could not have been more pleased with the treatment received. Mary Lu, who is one of the best surgical nurses in my opinion, worked with me to perform the laser treatments, which was a 5-treatment package deal (the best in the Baltimore/Washington DC area!). Mary Lu is very skilled at her craft; she not only shows compassion for patients, but works hard to ensure precision in each session. After my visit with Mary Lu, she referred me to Felisha, who is the center's Esthetician. Felisha is an amazing person, who has great knowledge of the best products for damaged skin. Because my skin was so badly damaged, I was advised to try a series of products geared toward repairing the issue. So far, I can say that I had no adverse reactions to the products, which I am using concurrently with the laser treatments. I have seen less and less hair growth since finding this gem of a practice in February 2015. My complexion is becoming much clearer than ever. I am overjoyed as I sit to type this review because of the outstanding experience. I want to thank Drs. Dean and Lauri for building such a great team of professionals to assist patients with top-notch service. I recommend The Center for Cosmetic Surgery & MediSpa, to anyone wanting to improve the quality of their life through laser hair removal. I am a loyal patient! I no longer run from mirrors, but to them, to look at the great work I had done at this wonderful practice. Please give them a try! :) Warmly, Cameil
I went to see Dr. Kane for a "subtle" Botox brow lift and he and his wife Lauri ended up recommending Newtox/Jeuveau. I had been a regular patient of Dr. Kane for several years, so I fully trusted his advice and suggestions. It was my first time getting Botox of any kind and truthfully, I should have done better research and went in knowing exactly what I wanted/how much. Lauri and Dr. Kane recommended something like over 100 units ($600+) of Newtox and Dr. Kane explained that if he injected just my brow, it would pull it down, so he had to inject in other places as well. It made sense to me, so I said OK. I should have listened to the nurse who said I should stress to Dr. Kane that I didn't need that high of units (I didn't even have any wrinkles), but like I said, I fully trusted him and didn't think he would steer me wrong. I saw no change to my brows. I thought the injections did nothing. When I brought that up to Lauri and Dr. Kane at my follow-up appointment, they just shrugged, as if I hadn’t just spent $600+ for nothing. I eventually saw a different provider for Dysport injections for a proper Botox Brow lift (roughly $200) and my brows look great now. Unfortunately, I am experiencing other changes to my appearance that can possibly be the result of the overinjection of Jeuveau. After getting opinions from other doctors about first time use of neurotoxins, I definitely feel taken advantage of. I am not sure why I was recommended such a high number of units as my first time getting Botox when I had no wrinkles. Was money the motivator? Again, I am not sure. If Dr. Kane is being irresponsible with his regular patients, how is he doing with new patients? This has been a truly frustrating experience and definitely made me more distrustful of plastic surgeons.
