Skin Color: Fitzpatrick IV Skin Issues: Acne (medicated + under control - at time of treatment, I had one active pimple and one under the skin), Texture (Rolling, Ice pick scarring on my cheeks), Uneven skin tone (particularly on my cheeks) Firstly, the location and provider I went to were great. Day of, I was numbed for 15-30 (?) mins and the treatment was started. I had stopped all retinols/acids about a week prior. The treatment literally felt like my skin was being electrocuted. I know people describe burning, which definitely happens, but I felt the distinct feeling of electric current, maybe I was odd but it was not a comfortable feeling. Having been through multiple treatments, I have built up a tolerance but that may be an issue for some people. Afterwards, my face was burning and I drove home with the A/C blasting on a cool November evening. I had the MENDs within 4 hours of my treatment. I used a gentle cleanser over the next 4-5 days with a moisturizer and sun screen when I went outside. It is now day 8 and I have tons of mini breakouts on my cheeks. It is definitely true that Halo speeds up that skin renewal process and I think it pushed everything lurking underneath to the surface. I also think I messed up using vaseline early on. As far as results, it is hard to tell. I think the edges of my textured scars are softer and some of their discoloration is lighter. However, on another patch of skin I think my skin got slightly darker. I plan to start Hydroquinone ASAP (provider warned that with my skin type I could get some discoloration) to ensure that my skin continues to improve. I think I need to give it a full month before I can judge the results but so far, I am enjoying the improvement in texture.
