Pre op review - I hope that I just look like a younger version of myself

I have wanted a facelift for a couple of years now. It has been really difficult growing older and looking older for me. People have started asking me if I feel okay and am I tired on a regular basis at work. I have been glued to real self for several months studying all the providers and the reviews the before and after pictures. I settled on Dr Whitaker because she has done face surgeries...

2012 and Second Facelift 11/30/2022

10 years ago, CO2 laser, facelift, top and bottom eye lift and fat restored under eyes. Last November 2022, facelift, lip lift and CO2 laser. Second time easier as you know what to expect. A little rough for a few days but tolerable, Dr Whitaker is caring and an expert.

Q: Dr. said I'm too young for a neck lift at 42 but I hate the way my neck looks, even after I had SmartLipo 8 months ago (Photo)
Answered by Dr. WhitakerOctober 22, 2020

A: Hello Quiet, Thank you for sharing your concerns and your images. It is less about your age than how your face is structured. From the images, you do appear to have early jowling and some neck laxity. The projection of your chin may also be something to assess further. An in person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to assess your concerns and whether you would be a better candidate for a necklift or a lower face and neck lift would be my recommendation. I hope this is helpful. All my best! Dr. Elizabeth

Q: Treatment for crepey skin under eyes? I'm 40 yrs old. (photos)
Answered by Dr. WhitakerAugust 11, 2020

A: Hello SuzAtlanta, Thank you for sharing your pictures and your concerns. The quality of the skin can be helped with energy treatments such as radiofrequency or fractional laser with no significant downtime. CO2 laser resurfacing would have more significant results but also about 5-7 days of downtime for healing. I would recommend you see a facial plastic surgeon to explore your options. I hope this is helpful. All my best! Dr. Elizabeth

Q: Facelift to remove effects from hyaluronic acid filler?
Answered by Dr. WhitakerApril 26, 2020

A: Hello Ihatemyinjections, Thank you for sharing your image and your concerns.  I would recommend waiting for the filler to fully dissolve before pursuing another procedure.  An in person consultation with a board certified facial plastic or plastic surgeon would be the best avenue to discuss your options.  I hope that is helpful.

All my best!  Dr. Elizabeth

Q: Is it possible to have neck lift surgery while on heart stent medication?
Answered by Dr. WhitakerApril 10, 2020

A: Hello Karen Lacey, Thank you for your question and sharing your concern.  If the stents are recent, your cardiologist is unlikely to let you come off blood thinners for elective surgery.  However, if you have had the stents for some time, your cardiologist may consider letting you come off the medications for the perioperative period.  I would discuss your desire to have elective surgery with your cardiologist at your next visit, and see what they would recommend.  I hope that is helpful.

All my best!

Q: I have thin lips and my Dr. recommends .5ML of Juvederm and 4 units of botox for a “lip flip”. Do you think lip flips work?
Answered by Dr. WhitakerApril 3, 2020

A: Hello Charming812009, Thank you for sharing your concerns.  Filler is one of the most predictable ways to create fuller lips.  The use of neurotoxins like Botox can be used less predictably to create a "lip flip".  The two can definitely also be used in combination.  It should not make your smile look weird, but it can weaken the pursing of your lips.  I hope this is helpful and you are pleased with your results!

All my best!

Dr. Elizabeth
