Radiesse is an injectable skin filler. It contains microspheres comprised mainly of calcium and phosphate ions, which occur naturally in the human body. After Radiesse is injected, thin tissue forms around the microspheres, filling wrinkles and creating a semi-permanent support structure for the skin. Results may last up to a full year or more, because your own tissue uses the injected material as a scaffolding to regrow new, native collagen. Treatment results are relatively long-lasting, but not permanent, making this filler perhaps the most cost-effective for those on a budget. Over time the tiny calcium-based microspheres gradually break down into basic calcium and phosphate ions which are safely and naturally absorbed into your body, leaving your own collagen intact.
