This 50 year old, 131 lb patient had previously had a breast augmentation and lift surgery performed by a different doctor a year and a half prior. As you can see, her implants were bottoming out and the scarring from the first surgery was significant. In addition, she had significant complications with the pockets created in the first surgery. A capsulectomy was performed, and her pockets were closed off both laterally and inferiorly, the right more than the left. The shape of her breast was also corrected, adding a horizontal component, and revising her scars. Again, this was done on the right side more than the left due to her previous abnormalities. Because of the complexity of this case, Strattice LifeCell was used to help support the weak tissues in her breast. Strattice LifeCell is extremely helpful in complex revisionary cases because it helps strengthen the tissue matrix, which in turn helps to support the implant and create the best results possible. This patient was able to use previous 350 cc moderate plus silicone implants since they had not been compromised, and were an appropriate size and volume for the dimensions of her chest.
