Submuscular placement of a breast implant is also known as subpectoral and dual plane breast augmentation. A silicone gel filled implant with submuscular placement is an excellent choice for patients with slim athletic body types. The extra tissue provided by submuscular placement assists in concealing the implant edges while the thicker characteristics of cohesive silicone gel yields less "rippling" and surface irregularities than saline filled breast implants. Photographic followup was obtained at 3 months after surgery. Note that surgical cases of Dr Chen Lee are presented for illustrative and educational purposes only.
