50 year-old woman, 5’3”, 146 lbs., 2 children, one year after drainless tummy tuck and liposuction of inner and outer thighs, done separately. She is very athletic and wanted her appearance to reflect how well she was taking care of herself. Because the abdominal flap was re-attached to the abdominal wall with progressive tension and quilting sutures, no drains were necessary and none were used. This technique virtually eliminates the possibility of seroma which is reported in the medical literature as an undesirable complication of abdominoplasty in 14 to 40 % of cases.
