Rhinoplasty surgeons sometimes jokingly refer to this basal view of the nose as the view for dogs and lovers. While it is true that this view of the nose is not often seen in everyday life, it is critical to have symmetry in this view if the rest of the nose is going to look straight. This tip is severely deviated, and was nicely corrected with an open rhinoplasty. This degree of correction is very difficult with a closed approach.
