38 year old African-American female who underwent Revision Rhinoplasty and Cheek Augmentation surgery with Dr. Slupchynskyj. This patient had had a previous Rhinoplasty by another surgeon where a standard silicone implant was utilized in an attempt to raise the bridge. The implant resulted in adding more bulk to her nasal bridge as well as creating a Pollybeak Deformity to the lower third of the nose. The patient was very unhappy with the results as her nose appeared bulbous, downturned and under projected". Dr. Slupchynskyj performed a Revision Rhinoplasty using an open rhinoplasty approach, replacing the old implant with a custom carved silastic implant that elevated the bridge and naso-frontal angle. The pollybeak deformity was corrected. Bulbosity in the nasal tip was revised by removing excess fatty tissue as well as scar tissue under the nasal tip skin. Multiple cartilage grafts were used to reconstruct the nasal tip and restore adequate projection and rotation. This patient also underwent Cheek Augmentation Surgery where Dr. Slupchynskyj placed large Submalar implants in the cheek areas resulting in elevation and more contour and definition to her cheeks. The Cheek Augmentation and Revision Rhinoplasty procedures helped to restore facial symmetry and harmony among all her facial features.
