Facelift in Manhattan

This 59-year-old woman wanted complete facial rejuvenation. I performed a full facelift, including the lower face. I also performed a neck lift and upper and lower eyelid surgery. Having completed trials for multiple different methods of facelift procedures, I have settled on performing a full SMAS elevation and advancement through an incision that is located around and inside the ear as opposed to in front of the ear. In my hands, this technique seems to come out the most natural-appearing and last the longest. Even when I perform my version of the short-scar facelift, I still treat the underlying tissues the same way. It just makes sense to me that by placing the underlying architecture back where it was when the patient was 25, the rest of the facial features look more natural and youthful. In this way, I am able to avoid pulling the skin too tight or creating a "clown" appearance.
